Did I imagine it or was someone on her swearing by rubbing mayonnaise into thier ropes prior to washing them?

I pre rinsed mine in the bath. Then found the middle, daisy chained and into the washer.

Butter is meant to be good for conny sap.

Never tried it.

Non bio at 40 deg works for me.

I can't see how 40 degrees can hurt, Aussie arbs are working at that temperature sometimes.

Hi,

 

According to testing & guidance from Teufelberger:

 

1. Do not wash the rope more often than is absolutely necessary!

2. We recommend to use rope detergents in accordance with the provided instructions.

3. Consequently, the washing temperature must never be higher than 30°C.

4. Rinse/post rinse the ropes well, using clean water.

5. Do not use your washing machine's "spinning" function when washing the ropes.

6. Allow the ropes to dry naturally. Do not dry them in direct sunlight, near heat sources or in driers

Mine gets a bloody good wash every five years whether it needs one or not.

Mayo gets conny sap out very well mate I have to get it off because the bulldog bones hate it

what happens if you use a 60C wash? i did this by mistake and my ropes appeared to be fine, just very very clean...
