Looking real smart Dave, might need a few tweeks but it looks like you're onto a winner there!:thumbup:

 

If i could make a comment too, i think the little bit of angle welded on the knife might fowl the logs, but guess you'll find out on a test run and it wont be difficult to alter later:thumbup1:

Well it works! Nothing has broken on it, couldnt see if the timber got stuck on the angle as it tended to "explode" as soon as the blade started to go through! I've got to do some proper testing next week so i'm confident there wont be any probs! :thumbup1:

Bursting like that is a trait of dry wood. Ash is a lot more user friendly if split when fresh.
