Yep, been offered £80 a day by two companies.
That's with your own kit and fuel.

Been offeted the same, people looking for subbies then offering rates like that. Not hugely tempting, specially using own kit

£80 a day with own kit and fuel is shocking! Could easily do 12/15 quid on fuel and oil

Then if it's local'ish you need a gallon of fuel for the van and a fivers worth off food.

"Hi mate can I pay you to come to earn you some money please?"

The sad thing is they must find people or they wouldn’t be offering it.

They always will find people. It's better to get £80/day than sitting at home earning nothing.

I just think that people who expect someone to turn up with their own gear for a days and want to pay them that sort of money are morally bankrupt.

When I first moved to the UK I got a job thinning on the Scottish Boarders.

"How big are the Trees?" I asked

"Oh pretty big" He said

Got up there and when he said most of the lads were doing about £40 a day I thought he was just joking. They had to get themselves to the site and run their own saws from that.

The way they were doing things was like the 1930's but with smaller saw's.His "Big Trees" were able to be stacked by hand.

What a Whanker.
