My mates who work as full time hand cutters destroy saws at quite rate... Particularly Huskys and it would seem over heating when brashing is a significant factor. Those of you working full time as hand cutters brashing and oversize/edge trees, what saws you using and how you finding the reliability? Obviously saw costs can be a significant factor. Don't want to hijack the thread so happy to move to another if appropriate.

You've taken your eye off the ball here David. Don't worry about destroying saws, you can pick a new one up on your day off, oh, hang on.

Friend of mine said the same a few years back. He got about 18 months out of a 346. He use to brash trees for a harvester.

By not having a vehicle on finance, not having a £200 helmet and £250 boots and working 7 days a week and forgetting about social media.

Insurance is a grand a year, less than £20 a week.

Pension! Waste of time at the low end.

Car, £200 from buy sell swap.

People need to stop expecting everything then cry about not having it.

I would make more profit on £700 a week with just a saw and a Nisan micra than I do with loads of kit, big house and finance up to my nuts.

I agree with you there Stephen, though £200 helmet and £250 boots wouldhardly make a difference. Gotta be comfy and gore tex waterproof boots.
