had to got to the hospital today to have two minor operations under local anaesthetic. Appointment was 07.45, by 09.45 I'd been cut open, twice, and stitched back together and out the door on my way home. I do look like a bit of a plumb with a load of stitches in my head though.

Now that's what I call service.

Lucky you, I've been waiting for 7 months for my hernia op. Had pre op scheduled for 19th December & going by ombudsman guidelines i should have op within a month so I've been cramming in as much work as I can because I don't know how long I'll be off work for & the buggers cancelled last week & my hernia hurts constantly now cos I've been flat out!.... Grrrrrrr

Hope you have a speedy recovery

Pleased you had good care eggs.

It should be something to be proud of but frankly it is shambles at times. My mrs is a nurse and had various family members in and out of hospital lately. It's good if you have something clear cut but when it comes to more complicated diagnoses there is no continuity, notes are lost and endless repetition of tests. No specialist at the weekend so if you don't get discharged by Friday you will probably have to stay in all weekend until they are back on duty. Beds cost a fortune per night and there are loads of people wanting to go home who cant until all the paperwork is done. There will never be enough money for it to do everything perfectly but it does seem management is appalling. Still glad we got it though :thumbup1:

Sums up my experience over the past couple of weeks.

My local hospital have been frighteningly negligent. My Dad would very likely now be dead if he'd been left in their 'care'.

Addenbrookes hospital on the other hand, fantastically brilliant. Literally life saving and humble enough to listen to the concerns of family.
