Totally agree, but didn't we hear enough from so called experts in the run up to the Brexit referendum?

I think it was in the news this week that the OBR stated that Brexit has caused a 15% reduction in export activity. Damn those experts - why didn't they warn us of this? Oh wait.....

People made a choice J based on a lot of things. There was a democratic vote 🤷‍♂️sometimes you don’t get the result you want. I’ve lived under years of SNP incompetence as an example. My own views have not changed regards exiting the huge corporate employment agency that the EU has become.

You heard enough from bias experts within your own echo chamber J

Brexit was poorly implented by people without the gumption to do what was necessary, it could/should have have been a lot different.

Doubtful, I'd read up on how the founding fathers wanted to run things when it was created.

I'm sure you're loving Kim Jong Starmer, I'm sure the picture of thatcher he removed was replaced by a lovely portrait of Cromwell.

The new poster boy for bread and gruel.

Nah, not really, Kier Starmer isn't great is he? Obviously better than the previous three incumbents, but that's not exactly difficult. Ken Dodd's dad's dead dog could've done a better job than that trio.

Don't think it matters what pictures he hangs on the wall though, that's doesn't bother me.  As long as he doesn't spend hundreds of thousands of pounds of our tax money on flat refurbishments, fancy wall paper or some such nonsense.

Bringing it back to POTUS anyway. At least our political system is not as fcked as the American version, that's something to be thankful for at least. It's not quite all about money here.

You got what you voted for.

In terms of milking the system, atleast the wallpaper wasn't from some vague in the shadows donor who's upto about 1-2 million in MP freebies, so far.

The reason why the US system is the way it is, is in part a system pre air travel.

That's why they would use railways for best part of a years electioneering.

I didn't vote for him, but yeah he's a vast improvement on the previous three incumbents so I can't complain too much. No doubt this will be controversial but IMHO he is more honest than Boris, (who wouldn't be?), more intelligent than Liz, (who wouldn't be?), and less rich than Rishi.

Anyway, dragging it back on topic. Can you explain the American system wrt air and rail travel a bit more? First time I've heard anything like that. Were election campaigns funded by rail barons or something?

You're current poster boys the only one with a personal named tax law.

Anyhoo, whilst radio was a bit more recent than the airplane.

They had to visit each state mostly using railways as roads were not non existent but they didn't have motorways or a proper road network until after WW2.
