Quick Google 2MW is 30,000 tonnes

There was a website last night, overall lifetime CO2 emissions windfarms about 30g / kwh and gas about 200g / kwh... I have thrilling bed time reading some nights!!

The North Sea is a national asset and must be treated as such. Our offshore energy sector has...

Id suggest some on here read this  and a selection of the comments from people who actually know what they are talking about in regards UK energy. Rather than just looking up how much concrete is in an onshore wind turbine base ( everyone is different depending on the prevailing ground conditions) and presuming that’s how they are all built.

Can you describe what 'energy transition' is that the article is about? (my take is the change, transition, from an oil based electricity generation system to a renewable based system, but I might be wrong)

Summary of the article: we need to use the expertise in the oil and gas industry to create the renewable electrical generation industry. Saves everyone 15 minutes to read the article

Are you aware that this is the Potus ??? thread?

Yeah I’m well aware it’s the POTUS thread but some whining bugger seems to want to go on about emissions and climate change 🤷‍♂️ guess it went off on a little tangent as is often the way.

I'm guessing 'going off on a tangent' is relevant when the question was 'given that the US generates the 2nd most CO2 emissions, what are Trumps plans for that" (I've rephrased the question in hoping that the hard of understanding get a better understanding).

My view... Trump... paid by the oil industry... will be planning to do nothing. Perhaps state issued tin foil hats if you live near a wind turbine to prevent cancers. He'll be playing playground politics of "Yes, I know it is better that way, but they are also doing bad thing, biggly bad thing, so we will do it too".. rather than striving to be the best, he'll be aiming to be 2nd worst.

I summary, guff, rhetoric and we should use our own produced oil and gas.

Other than that the government "listened" but carried on with the mad failure of a bacon sarnie eaters plans for putting us all in the cold whilst inviting Vince dale to eds bukka payday party.

Probably excluded the cfc hazards in the gearbox or transformer, can't remember if it was cfc or of PFC.

I laughed my arse of the other day, district heating has had more money thrown at it. Using heat from data centres, yeah but why not build them in the basements of leisure centres and schools ?.

Laughing at you SP and the drivel you post

Rapist eh, oh how you loved old Joe and his fondling of kids.

'Laughing at me' for highlighting that Trump is a rapist, serial sex abuser and voyeur? And yet, you appear to support him and forgive him for this?

You're an honourable man, no double standards, so I wonder, if Trump raped your wife, grabbed your children by the genitals and then popped into a changing room to watch them all changing would your view be any different? This is what he has done. Raped someones wife and child (at least one), 'You can grab them by the pussies' and well reported that when he had Miss Universe he'd wander into the changing rooms of the 20 year olds for a good look. But you appear to forgive him for this and think he makes a good role model and leader. I do not.

(noting that he was besties with Epstein... whose close circle of pals are also dubious.. but Trump alone is not, hmmmmm?)

Not sure about the gearbox, can't remember if the transformers are oil or air cooled, a weight / size thing. In the order of things though, pure CO2, and windmills are better.

There was a data centre I think in Wales, data centre under the council pool - heated the water for free and the data centre saved money by having a massive heat sink above it instead of 100's of air con units, definitely 'we', the world need to be more clever and  joined up thinking.
