I used to think he was cool. Then I discovered/noticed how much tax loot he takes. Space stuff is just outsourced NASA. It’s cronyism, not capitalism.

🤷‍♂️ cronyism from whom ?? Trump is just back ??

Maybe he just prefers giving lots of money to the russians to send things up in equipment that was literally built before the fall of the Berlin wall ?.

Is that capitalism or socialism comrade?.

I'm sure you've been for many a long walk off Wigan pier.

And maybe read what he wrote, beforehand.

Not at all, he is a business man, making a lot of money and actually pushing the green agenda forward with his electric cars and BESS systems.

As Mark J says he has bought himself into favour with Trump with cash to his election campaign and dazzling with his business abilities (Trump craves both).. cannot fault him with that, many many others have done the same world over in the past and will do in the future... The corruption charge is levelled more at Trump for allowing himself to be bought so easily.

Watch this space though, Trumps oil backers won't be happy if he pushes electric vehicles and battery storage, Musk won't be happy if he punishes electric vehicles. Trump won't be happy if Musk becomes Times Person of the Year, and vice versa. It is an unlikely pairing, be interesting to watch.

But Musk, there purely for the money and business opportunities he can buy. Suspect you are assuming too much again.

I think you're being slightly generous towards the right wing anti-woke mincer there. His pushing of the green agenda feels more like a means to an end, making a fortune, rather than motivated by altruism. Much like Trump, I don't believe he does anything for the good of humanity or the planet. Or anyone but himself. There's no denying his drive and determination and general business accumin though. Worth noting that his profits are partly derived from the exploitation of his workers, and others.

It will be interesting to see how the conflict between ICE and BEV plays out. My guess is that he'll switch to fossil fuel powered vehicles if the pressure from Trump's other friends is too great. No doubt he'll still be very successful in that; a lot of the technologies and processes used by Tesla are ground breaking, way ahead of the other major auto manufacturers. Or, he'll continue on his current trajectory with electric cars and the oil barons will be forced to concentrate their efforts into making yet more filthy plastic that we don't need.

Disclaimer. I have no military service record.

Musk's firm backed the government's green stance, despite its maverick chief executive's social media attacks.

Maybe not pushing but influencing it to make money. Yes a pure business man (he didn't found Tesla, just saw the opportunity to bung in cash and take control)... but linked strongly to EVs now I am not sure he could backtrack too far to petrol vehicles.

Dear me 42 you do realise how much of that nasty oil produced by  nasty oil barons is actually required to help build and run those planet saving electric cars.
ATL is weak at the moment it would seem.
