Selective reporting.

Both have said both good and bad, report all the distasteful stuff from one, all the palatable stuff from the other and while you have only reported things which were actually said, you have also conspired to paint a very distorted picture.

They done it with pro's and con's of remain vs leave as well.

Biased Broadcasting Corporation

:congrats::congrats:

100% correct.

I have listened to BBC radio, mostly radio 4, but some radio 2, every working day, all day for 25 years and have been a huge fan.

They have been unbelievably bias in their reporting and comment on the referendum, both pre and post.

And in the US election.

They have become a HUGE disappointment to me

It was interesting that even after the results have been made public the media still is shocked and bewildered that a Trump/Pence ticket has won not only but carried over 2/3rds of the states and won the popular vote as well. The latter does not matter so much since it's just a great one two punch.

The BBC have simply reported observed facts, ie the speeches that Trump has given. The fact he publicly denounces the existence of climate change and reportedly intends to subvert the Paris climate agreement, the impact of these moves will be felt globally and for many subsequent generations.

It matters not, whether the BBC are seen as being balanced. They are simply the method by which it was reported what this unpredictable menace has said.

The post election BBC reporting is even more biased than before - if that's possible.

They seem to be totally focussed on the (perceived) negative effect of the outcome, and interviewing all the mealy mouthed whiners they can find.

It would be difficult to justify 'balance' under these circumstances - they seem to be actively seeking the moaners, naysayers and doom merchants who must, by definition, be the minority of the population.

It's a time for celebration and looking forward to a new beginning - draining the swamp would be a good place to start.

BBC credibility as an independent and balanced media source is in tatters in my view.

It'll be interesting to see whether Trump's administration can maintain any objectivity, IMO.

Trump is a 911 truther folks.

Will Hillary flee to Saudi Arabia for asylum?

Are you saying there's no justification for an antiestablishment backlash?

America right or wrong, deadly wrong?

Exactly how do you protect and defend the US constitution without protectin n defendin the very people it was written to benefit?

As long as the document's safe, ef the people, eh?

Hopefully fascism's been narrowly avoided here.

I see no issue with the BBC coverage of the election campaign. Fair enough, Hillary was a poor candidate, but Trump is a lunatic. He can only be described as a sociopathic, misogynistic, arrogant, ill informed, lying, cowardly moron. He has exposed America as being a country where prejudice, hatred and ignorance are not only accepted on the public stage, but are celebrated. The level of national stupidity required to elect Trump dwarfs that required to vote for Brexit.

I'm shocked and saddened. I have friends in the US and they are heartbroken. I can't see any iteration of a Trump presidency that doesn't end in disaster. The man is a disgrace.

Hehe  what were the chances of you saying that :001_rolleyes:

There are plenty who have a pretty low opinion of you, but hey thats life :001_smile:

Apparently 50% of Americans are earning the same today as they did 17 years ago, can you really blame them for not voting for more of the same ???

I voted for brexit and have no regrets, I just wish they would get on with it!!!

Didn't see that coming J. You are on the hard left; pretty standard Lefty-Liberal-Pseudo-Progressive social-media-esque response.

Much the same extreme assessment was given to Ronald Reagan... :001_huh:

In some respects left leaning, but less so now than in my younger days.

I accept that the American electoral system is buggered. The sheer quantities of money that are involved beggar belief. It needs a fundamental reevaluation, and a recognition that the United States are many things, but United is not one of them.

The issue is (taking Trump's deplorable personality out of the equation) that Trump represents everything that he claims he wants to change. He claims to be in it for the little man, yet his upbringing and life could not be more different. He claims to be against free trade, yet has enjoyed this benefit all around the world. How his admission that he has paid no income tax for nearly 20 years has not disgusted the average working Joe is beyond me.

It is also interesting that looking at the electorate demographics, the two most significant attributes for voting Trump were education and religion (in most cases the completion of the first precludes the adherence to the second). The more religious and ill educated you are, the more likely you were to vote for Trump. Just as well really as neither Trump nor Pence believe in climate change and Pence is a creationist.

Just unbelievable really!

True. Because what passes for "education" these days in liberal universities (and they're all liberal) is just leftist brainwashing, plain and simple. Give me an unsophisticated fundi any day over the product of modern western education (excepting the hard sciences).

Funny thing about "education" is most of the people I have known who claim to be educated, are dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to real-world matters - and that includes politics.

Of course climate change is real, its just that we, with our cars and factories, are not driving it. And if we are contributing a little bit, it doesn't matter - its going to change anyway whether or not we use fossil fuels. Just another hoax by the elites to gain control of the world economy - control the CO2 emissions means controlling crude oil and coal - that means controlling transport, manufacturing and electricity. Control those three things and you control everything. The "uneducated" understood this ruse for what it was many years ago.

Trump has removed our "mind-forged manacles" and we can now speak the truth freely, with the support of POTUS and two thirds of the United Statesians. And this is just the beginning......:001_cool:
