Hello all,

Looking for a stove to go into my new place. Its a 55m3 room, double glazed and well insulated so only want a small stove - 5kw or under. Will only be wood fuelled. Not in a smoke control area. On exterior wall and I want direct air ideally. The fireplace and chimney is relatively large so plenty of space to play with. Will have new flue and accessories at the same time. Black and quite traditional probably.

Any recommendations?

We had a 5kw Woodwarm 'wildwood' in our old house. Have just put a 12kw woodwarm in our new house. I can't rate them highly enough and I like the fact they're made just down the road from me near cullompton. They are superbly built and kick out hell of a heat.

We've stuck with arrow and like them, we have a 20kW and a 5. Only problem with the 5 is the steel handle gets too hot to open the door without a tool whereas you can do the older ones by hand.

Morso 3112 Badger.

Aarrow Farringdon S

Both tick all your boxes, and are Defra approved, Farringdon is a dedicated wood burner and is right up there with Morso quality wise, stainless cool touch door handle with wood handle option. Farringdon is one of the first stoves in the Uk to conform to the proposed 2022 emissions regs.

The Aarrow Ecoburn 5 and Ecoburn 5 widescreen, Morso 04 and Esse 100 are also worthy of consideration but none can accept direct air. All now have cool touch handles of one sort or another.
