that a petrol

It is indeed, but it would indicate that the machine could take the extra power? The trouble with diesel would be the weight and making it fit?

It might be worth contacting Lombardini direct to see if they have something more powerful the same size, or they may just have some kind of turbo or electronic upgrade to the 28 that could give you more ooomf!

I've been considering one of these myself as red diesel has to be the way to go. Is the 28 lacking in power?

Predator told me the 38 is petrol because they could not find a diesel of that power which would fit - what with the 26 inch width limitation.

You could mount a bigger diesel longways but you would have to put a 90 degree turn on the output shaft, adding more weight and complexity, or convert the cutter wheel to hydraulic drive (again, compliucated and not that cheap).

Like Mr Dempsey said theres probably a lot less hassle, and more reliability in an upgrade.

Not worth the trouble even if you could get the engine to fit, we have been down this road many times. You'll find you will need new engine mounts, then the exhaust will be a different size, the electrics won't connect as they are different connectors, the belts are out of line blah blah. Not worth it.
