  1. Past hour
  2. I thought so - it recognises quite a few ‘naughty’ words which are obviously always wasted guesses but worth throwing in as far as I’m concerned!
  3. @Stere thank you for your help. I had to remove the tree and destroy it altogether as there was signs of infection all the way down to the base of the trunk and I have other apple trees in the garden. I will replant in the area as it is a good location. But, is there anything I should do to the soil other than build up the nutrient base and add a bit of lime to the surrounding area before replanting? I had contemplated burning the top soil by laying coals on it...

  5. Nice, one of the best. A piece of fine Yam Yam, or (more politely, Black Country) engineering.
  6. Fair enough Dan. Your second word was much better.
  7. Hello @mattalat, To address the girdling root on your redbud, it's best to cut it out now before it causes further damage. Use a chisel or a sharp tool to carefully remove it. Ensure you water the tree adequately during the hot and dry Texas summer to help it recover. If you're unsure or uncomfortable doing it yourself, consult an arborist. Additionally, you can go through this https://www.reddit.com/r/sfwtrees/comments/tghtbr/redbud_is_girdled_pretty_bad_would_it_be_okay_to_aws/?rdt=56615 for more assistance. Thanks
  8. Thank you, just noticed a marking above the “Made in England” mark, I think it says “Brades”
  9. Yeah white house is about the same as the dealers and im unsure about the flow fit, as the chipper gets heavy usage and I havnt read much about the quality of them. Ill have to find some reviews on them I guess, cheers for the reply 👍🏻
  10. Consider removing the tree and planting another weeping willow elsewhere.
  11. I'd say Ash species at a glance..
  12. As an update, my mate has turned a bit of hickory to make a new handle.
  13. Have a look at this thread and as well as flowfit try whitehouse hydraulics for a cheaper deal price than the dealer.
  14. Up here it has been on the news a bit, loads of empty office space in the middle of town that could be converted, old warehouses to offices (and then to flats?), so loads of character but I think the hold up is where to put the wheelie bins of all things - offices get commercial waste collections and big bins, flats get little bins and the council.
  15. Also here is a photo from further away, there seems to be a lot of twigs growing up also
  16. Hello, what is this tree ?!?!? Again my book is letting me down, the new stems seem to sprout off in the multiple directions from the same point and repeat this, i think this is called a whorl ? The leaves are serated pinnette finally toothed and come to a very sharp point. They are also opposite, its the whorl growth that is confusing me. The trunk is thin smooth but has large holes as seen in pictures, I think this is called corking. The twigs have black solid buds on them. They seems to be hairs in yhe main veins also on the underside of the leaf any ideas people … some advice on what kind of pictures to take wouldbe really helpfull
  17. And if anyone at home hasn't played today, look away now.
  18. The bearing and seals have gone on the hydraulic roller on our chipper, and it seems the only way forward is to replace the whole thing. Was wondering if anyone has or knows of second hand ones because I can’t find any online. Any help is much appreciated
  19. Peculiar the sites some folk know the name of.
  20. Will C

    Jokes???

    That messes with my brain
  21. It will be higher in the search results than midget porn
  22. Woodchips needed for an outdoor learning area. Will also take logs - small or large.
  23. I think magnolia is Asian origin. Hence why it may not be in your book. They should not be pruned until after they flower in an ideal world.
