The initial charge for the dead battery will be charging it from the good battery - have to watch out that you don't get a large rush of current, battery to battery. My view would be an old dumb charger with a current limiter to see if that will do the job. Lead acid batteries will tolerate paralleling batteries, not sure with lithium if it generates a large heat - never tried though. However much it is annoying though, how many hours are you willing to spend working out a fix and are the value of these hours more than a new battery in the first place - 10 hours of your leisure time = new battery? - add them up, getting advice, sourcing the kit you want, fiddling about to make something work / not work and try again.... though I am enjoying reading the thread to see what fixes there are out there so maybe 'getting advice' doesn't count as much.
