Hi there, I'm looking for some advice on how to get into tree surgery - and if there is any companies looking for new starts in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. I have recently left the Navy, currently working as a grounds maintenance operative. What should be my first step to start working my way towards a qualified tree surgeon. Thank you for your time! Regards Tony

a couple of gems from a little while back !!!!😁 The second one is the little known Devon , Agri kindling cut !!

What’s this mean for those wishing to support British products? is it “just” the profits that leave the country?
-
You can make a plunge cut into the stem in the direction of fell (90 degrees to the hinge) to assess the condition of the timber. The resistance and sawdust produced tell the story On such a tree I would have done it prior to the decision to fell. You might have discovered better wood higher up the stem

In the vain hope of changing the topic, and uniting us all in disdain for a weird Yank, have any of you lot seen that video of Elon Musk, describing the people of the UK as Hobbits, our villages and towns under constant threat from the marauding Orcs ( migrants)? Yes, i know he's successful to all those who like him....but fecking Hobbits! He could have at least chosen Ratty, Mole, Badger and Toad from The Wind in the Willows terrorised by the Stoats and Weasels then i'd take him more seriously. Hoping someone smarter than me can upload it, besides, i don't have the time. i need to head off to Bree for a pint at The Prancing Pony before dark, as I've heard there's some dodgy geezers on horses being a pain in the arse to everyone. Wish me luck!

It's big because I started it, found the wood to be shit and kept going in the hope of finding better wood.

Read into it what you will. You have not for the first time referred to guns, aggression size etc that’s shit stirring snide wanker behaviour anyway you look at it, designed to sow a seed and you know it. You’d be disappointed Mark because I’ll express the same views to your face as I do here. None of it is bile as you put it, it’s facts, there’s not one thing I’ve ever put up that was not an actual occurrence be it rape, murder an actual terror attack etc etc 🤷♂️take your pick. To want controls in place at our borders and within our judicial system to protect our own citizens does not a racist make you. The truth is Leftards like you and others are the best recruitment team Reform has.

There are plenty of people on this and other forums who I don't agree with all the time. There are plenty of people on this and other forums who don't agree with me all the time. (they are usually wrong but we'll agree to disagree on that point) However no one on this forum apart from you is pushing a racist agenda and I think if you take the time to read, comprehend, understand the comments pretty much no one is accusing those they disagree with as racists, or pushing a racist agenda... apart from you. Why would that be?
-
Not at all. If anything you have grassed yourself up by spewing the bile you do. I'm not a grass, and I take it as an insult. I'm reasonably confident that you and I would have polite discourse in real life, but your online persona suggests otherwise. You are pulling the wool over the eyes of nobody. And you're making a mug of yourself by doing so.

Meetings with remarkable trees, the Arbtalk version

Fair enough. I knew it was a thing with Redwoods, and some other tree species I think, it was just that particular picture that I was questioning, not you personally. With the insidious invasion of AI, there's doubt over almost everything these days. -
I did manage to aspire to a Gold Star, I very reluctantly sold it to finance a house purchase, biggest regret ever,, relationship went south, house got sold, never again will I trust anything that bleeds for 3 days and don't feckin' die.

You give up because you have zero proof , I could sit here and decide to lavel you a peado due to your defensive position on a certain royal. I won’t because I have no evidence or proof. Your words are utterly meaningless.

I have a friend with a forest in Wales and she's been planting coastal redwoods. The idea is to coppice them. -

I have seen similar with wellingtonia where the drooping bottom branches have rooted and spawned new trees. -

No anger or agenda here Mark, once again you make a snide comment about guns, bit of a shit stirring grass on the side it would seem. What half truths ?? I’ve made no attempt to hide any of my views ?? Since when did wanting controlled immigration and prioritisation of our own citizens become having an “ agenda”. 😂😂😂😂hatred you mug, I could put you in front of an individual from dozens of countries with a multitude of religions whom I’ve worked with and would consider friends. Your attempts like most leftards to portray anyone who you disagree with as racist or far right is laughable. 6’5” by the way.
