  2. These days I watch a lot of quiz shows. Mostly I have no idea of the rules, I just answer the questions. Not a fricking Scooby what’s going on. The Chase The wheel The Wall 1% club no idea, and don’t give a toss either.
  3. Anyone with a knackered 550mk mk1? Need crankcases and various other parts? Thanks
  4. What a load of utter nonsense WTF is an “ oil generator “ 😂😂😂😂😂 I will guarantee you will be long gone before oil runs out you daft bugger, what you don’t understand is to close our own sector then buy from the one next door is pure dumb arse stupidity, look at the more sensible comments on here, and when you can tell me what is gonna be used as a substitute for the thousands of products oil is used in ( including your beloved wind turbines) I’ll maybe have a bit of respect for your opinion. You have zero knowledge of or experience in either industry as everyone knows. Reality ( not fantasy) is a balance is what’s required something you just can’t seem to grasp. Talking of fossil fuels lad, you still chugging away burning that imported coal ??, just about finishing putting a new morso into the new property. Got to do your bit eh SP/TA you should consider it, bit of hard graft and prep be good for you, far better for the environment than bringing in coal from overseas to burn here 🤔🤔Greta wouldn’t like your carbon footprint wee man.

  9. Iran might have re-armed this time with far better weapons. US jets and military personnel are in the shter... There was at least one big ship coming from China a few months ago ,intercepted by US army... Nobody said why or what it was carrying but it wasn't allowed to reach Iran! If Iran has indeed upgraded to chinese weapons(whatever those may be) they will cause big problems/damage to US and Israeli forces in the next days! This could be a reason why BIBI is against US military strikes on Iran... He knows this time Israel might be really bombed... If one ICBM has a nuke on it and gets past Israeli air defences, the sht just hit the fan... As if many iranian ICBM's haven't got past air defences last time things got rough for Israelis... One thing is for sure: another oil war is about to start... reuters.com WWW.REUTERS.COM

  11. You and your legendary comprehension of the written word. Go back to what I wrote, read again, understand, make notes. Ask your kids for help with any of the big words.
  12. There could be hundreds of years.... but the minds in the business and the oil companies are predicting 35 to 50 years so I am inclined to go with them and their ££ millions in tech that measure these things (UK is at the lower end of that scale by the way). It is something that JonsonD doesn't understand that when it does run out.. and the prediction it might be within my life... that fighting against windmills, solar plants and so on kind of says to the kids "fck you, we did OK, problem is yours now"... so at what point do we need to sit down and plan for the future, build an infrastructure that doesn't rely on gas and oil? Now? when the kids are middle aged? or when the world goes "Oh shit, it has all gone"? Might be worth noting that the majority of Africa and large parts of China and India are not on an electrical grid network... when they get connected unless someone is leading the way, saying 'go green' they will go with oil, massive increase in demand, and do we want to sleep walk into the future where there are double the people competing for the same oil... pushing up the prices... supply and demand... just as it is all running out... or back to the point I have been making over the years, we wean ourselves of oil now, off foreign control of our power? (Nigeria for example might not want to export its resources if it is needed there, Russia has a mentalist in charge, so does the US, the Iranians are not our friends (get a bit hostile there, oil prices rocket), we are at the mercy of the oil producers) Report out this week that the new round of UK wind turbines have a 'strike price' (what they are paid) of about 70% of what the oil generators are asking for. This is the part that needs the overhaul that what we pay is linked to the oil generators and not what the distributors pay and not what it costs the generators...and the difference is a nice ££ millions into the foreign shareholders back pockets... at our expense.
  13. Atleast the Venezuela dictator had a bit of business acumen!.
  14. Hi People, I hope everyone is keeping well. I have recently had a couple members of staff leave to go abroad for work and as always this time of year work is busy. So I'm looking for a few extra staff. We are looking to get climbers and ground staff onboard and are currently looking for staff for all days of the week but certainly need extra people on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Woodstock Tree Services Ltd is a small family run business with 8 staff on and we generally have a couple of teams out daily. Works include all the generic tree and hedge bits and is a 50/50 mix of commercial and domestic work. We are a polite, friendly company and expect the same from our staff. We are looking for reliable, friendly and enthusiastic ground staff who are willing to get stuck in and are happy with no experience provided they have the right attitude towards work. We are happy to train the right candidates up in the industry. With climbers we are looking for experienced climbers but will happily work with less experienced climbers with the correct work ethic and qualifications. The only thing we ask is that people are honest about their skill set as this helps us understand what sort of tasks you are equip for. We are also looking for climbers with a foreman role in place to help manages sites and keep jobs running smoothly. Currently we are looking to have an additional 3/4 staff to join our team Our yard is based in Rangeworthy in Bristol and the yard is slightly difficult to get to by public transport so transport is essential. Work hours are 7:30am - 4pm the work will be on a freelance basis but we are looking to employ the right staff over time. If anyone is looking for any of these roles or you guys know anyone who is or is moving to the area let me know. Contact is Eric on: 07725 951006 or Email [email protected] Ive included the job add below but it might not work due to my lack of technical abilities Current Opportunities.pdf

  17. Nearing the end of fitting a new Morso 6143 free standing 5KW stove into the new property, we had the same stove in the old place and were more than happy with its performance. Had to remove a manky old polluting coal fire and seal up the fire place, few late ones over the holidays but looking forward to lighting it up tonight, bit of pointing etc on the brick slips should see it completed.
  18. thanks guys, to add to the weirdness they only need 1 million PL it turns out. Not sure what companies are going to offer tree work PL for that much. New to the self employed thing so glad I checked, gone back to them to clarify why exactly.
  19. I see the Home Secretary has thrown him under the bus big time.
  20. The advice above is sound — manufacturer SDS sheets are the starting point and the HSE COSHH e-tool is useful for understanding exposure and control measures. Where people often get caught out later on is keeping everything joined up. It’s not just about having individual COSHH assessments, but also a clear substance register and making sure what’s on paper actually reflects what’s being used on site. On commercial or principal contractor jobs, they’ll usually want to see COSHH and PUWER managed alongside RAMS, with evidence it’s reviewed and applied rather than just filed away.

  22. but Dave,,, "lessons will be learnt" often involving lifting carpet and discrete but hurried sweeping.
  23. I agree with a lot of the above. RAMS stands for risk assessment and method statement. I generally incorporate theses into the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) - not sure if that applies to arb but it's a good blanket document to cover the plan for larger jobs including information on site access maps, emergency services access point, work schedule etc etc. Method statement can be as simple as a list of bullet points of what you're going to do and in what order. Assess the risk of each step/ tasks of above. It might be a good idea to break risk down into severity and likelihood of incident, and score 1-3 for each. Multiply severity by likelihood to get a risk score. Score 1-3 is low risk, 4-6 is medium and 7-9 is high risk. If any stage of you method statement is high risk then you need to change the method statement accordingly. You should try to introduce different methods for medium risk where practicable. I have a list of tasks specific risk assessments, i.e. tree felling or loading plant onto a trailer. I refer to these in the Construction Phase Plan but don't include the whole risk assessment. I never really have to modify them. Then for each new job/site I'll do a risk assessment that is specific to that site, and include that in the CPP. Hope that helps
