Its either not been tightened fully or had dirt in the thread - making it feel tight but still being loose. I had the same on my CBR600 motorbike. Should be quite easy to helicoil. Best to pull the cylinder off first so it can be reassembled clean, but on the CBR6 I helicoiled all four in situ as getting a 4T bike engine apart and back together is a fairly huge job. If you do it with the saw assembled, set the engine with exhaust port open, use plenty of grease on the tap to catch any swarf then flush it out with 2t mix fuel.

Personally I think you are on the right track. I'd get a battery hedgecutter to match either of your battery systems. I've used the Makita LXT one (DUH506) is excellent. Makita claim it can cut up to 20mm. That said I would keep your battery shears on a toolbelt for the big ones. I dont know the Einhell one or the longreach Makita one. If I was buying longreach it would be petrol. Keep the blades sharp.

As above, fourstoke engines are for things with wheels and not to be carried. The additional weight just isn't worth it. I hated their 35cc strimmer that I used to have.

I admit I used to run them a bit longer than that as I only had spur sprockets on less used , bigger saws. Even Stubby's floating rims will show the telltale mark the drive link makes as they wear, unlike spur drum the rims tend to explode if you run them too long.

What i will be cutting on regular basis are 6-12mm hedge branches, some 15mm. Larger ones i individualy cut with battery secateurs or loppers. Now i can get light and small hedge trimmer to do hedge trimming on smaller stuff and do the rest one by one. The other way is to buy serious hedge trimmer and have less work to do indivisually. The more serious hedge teimmer is, the more wweght is to carry around. And than i have to decide on budget too. I can not see, if throwing more money at equipment now will bring marginal or big enough benefit. This is where i don't have enough experience to foresee. But when the hedge is done it will really looks nice ).

Ganoderma aplanatum I think. Some holm oaks I looked at for SWT had it and were still going after 10 years in a station car park, I'll have to call in and see how they are. They were reduced a bit just in case.

Having used both the Pro Comms. I only bought the Pfanners as 2 other lads already had them. Range is bloody garbage..
