  2. I believe that comment was a quote from someone else. I could be wrong. or not.
  3. Broadly concur. Groundsman can still do it. It’s just the device is next to the climber rather than next to him.

£1500 for the infaco! Shame Makita doesn't do one yet as have both the 40v and 18v batteries already Only knock offs One with the newer mak 40v battery platform could be be a beast of a lopper as max outputs are higher even for the smaller batteries This Italian one looks decent but still £500 odd..
  5. Seems like negative rigging is too dynamic a situation to have the climber in charge of the descent of the piece, if you’re talking about chunking down sections of trunk. I am a big fan of the climber doing the lowering in many circumstances, however that would not be one of them.
  6. No, it's only racism if Johnsond, me, or anyone who agrees with him posts it. anyone else posts it it's just something to laugh at or ignore if you wish.

I’ve got one. Great tool. Use it a lot, mostly from mewp. a little bit heavy but gets a lot done quickly. will cut an inch and a half no problem.
  9. You can add yourself as a tip site here https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling/?nearby=100&lat=52.24723349616169&lon=1.0768949558895349 You'll need a chainsaw and axe to cut it up though.
  10. Could do it. Things like this do the same job but more expensive: I preferred to have a groundie who could run lines when I climbed commercially.
  11. Neither, 3d printer. Hence the 3d printed cocks.
  12. A hot take for a Sunday afternoon: Why not put the portawrap at the cut? Pros: Climber can control it, either immediately or after the catch. You save an expensive pulley/ring/thimble/safebloc. You only need half the length of fat rope. You could alternate ends. It wouldn’t hockle. Your top strop only needs to be half as strong. Climber can set the friction (pro and con - he’s probably choosing the piece size but he can’t see it in as good context as groundsman - he can still ask for an opinion though). Rigger can be anywhere. Cons: A tiny bit more weight for the climber to manipulate. MUCH less rope in the system to absorb shock. A pro when you want to catch a piece dead though. As long as you’re mindful of how big the piece is. Aware not a new argument but have we thought about it recently? I’m seeing more pros than cons.
  13. if anyone can help, im moving from the uk to perth an looking for job oppertunities does anyone have any suggestions for compamys in that area
  14. If you are referring to satirising the headscarf known as a hijab that is not particular to one race. Therefore calling this racism is quite misguided.

We are the sole house down a single track, directly off of the A367 with small turning space down the end, suitable for a trailer and pickup or long wheel base van but nothing bigger will fit. You can dump the wood chips on the land next to the parking area.
  16. Yes, Mark, stop using your education to apply critical thinking to the world and news. You know it upsets JonsonD with his dislike for anyone educated past 16 years old. Far better to copy and paste from the biased and unregulated social medias, bypass the brain and just go straight to outrage.
  17. 3.5 tonnes... suspect this is total weight too, probably what they can recover. A tipper with 5 tonnes of chip in the back will need commercial recovery. Though "if the tipper is used for business purposes", as opposed to all of us who have a tipper for domestic reasons? might be able to argue that since all tippers are for business use this clause contradicts the earlier ones which the headline says they do cover? (Edit before anyone gets arsy, hands up anyone who uses a tipper solely for personal use and never as a business vehicle?)
  18. Hello! Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but new to owning a wood burner in the house I moved into and have a young baby so just looking for advice on how best to heat the home Someone told me that on this site you can get intouch with local businesses and see if they have logs to give away or get rid of? In the BD4 in Tong area just out of drig thanks in advanced

    Suffocate the Weeds!

Easy to drop off as there's ample space, the site is my house; easy to find, a wide road with houses on one side and green space opposite. The woodchips are for the front garden (now dead grass!) Space to be covered is approx. 4m x 5m. My lawn is connected to my neighbours, but it's obvious which is mine (as it's not grass anymore!) Just need to make sure it's tipped onto my soil and not the neighbour's lawn, please and thank you! Can be dropped off any day or time, just give me a heads up.
  23. Not considered that, as I am a builder and tuner or race engines, I'm in the process of building a 105E with an ELVA conversion to go in a 60s Lotus 7..

On drive next to house please.
  25. Reminds me of a quote Joe Wilkinson said on a show ...sitting on a bus talking to a random stranger "we were getting along really well until I downed a jar of Loyd Grosmans Bhuna sauce and it all went weird"
