For clarity I never said the last bit,[highlighted in red ] you added that to further your blatant vendetta against Johnsond. for some reason this seems to bother you more than the plight of the victims. your constant skewing of statistics to discredit him are obvious as they are pathetic, the percentage of white people in the uk is substantially more than non whites, but the number of rapists in the smaller group is percentage wise greater. if the two groups were equal in number the true facts would be impossible to conceal by skewing numbers and statistics. this country is heading for the bottom in every respect, some people can't or simply refuse to admit it, and prefer to refute what more and more people are realising.

so a diff lock should not be used unless the front wheels are straight and even then it could still cause thousands of pounds worth if damage - for expert use only.

No, not of kits, but a loaded truck /van whatever , on a hard surfaced drive perhaps with twists or turns and a locked diff , if a wheel can't slip somethings going to go bang. Hopefully will be halfshaft as they're cheaper to replace than gearbox pinions etc. And yes have blown 2 , one on an older series landrover and the other on a much later td5 defender. There's a time and a place for locked diffs - usually once you're in the shit!,
-
no idea - you have experience of these diff lock kits?
-
So he'll need a set of halfshafts as well as a new clutch soon then, something with hi/low ratio is really what he needs. Becoming harder to find at sensible prices.

I turned one down today too - was doing a standard Connie hedge top and trim, not been done for three years, very patchy and poor condition. First time we’ve done it and the customer is delighted with what we managed to achieve. the next door neighbour has exactly the same continuation of the line and we did them 6 years ago - not touched them since. Was a nightmare to climb through, no footholds, 15ft wide. He knocked me down on price (my mistake accepting that), quibbled over price for fencing we supplied and was generally a pain. He asked me to do his as well straight after today, in the pouring rain - err no! What not today? No not at all - not interested and I recommended he calls someone else. Found out that the kitchen fitter, and a bathroom fitter have both refused to quote him for further work so reckon I dodged a bullet there 👍

Sometimes the most important jobs are the ones you turn down Mick. You’re well out of it. He sounds like the sort of tight-fisted prick who would come after you for every single further ounce of damage that may occur during the takedown.

Not at all, JonsonD you are obsessed with reporting rapists to this Arborist site... but only if they are 'not white'. As Oldfeller is saying, the colour of the skin is irrelevant to the crime... to all except for you. Unless they make the main news sites headlines, these crimes are not reported on this Arborists site by the other members. Noting how very quiet you are on the most news making rapist at the moment - but Epstein is a white man, with rich and influential white friends, but you never made a peep about him, funny that. Said it before and I will say it again, if we take your racially biased posts as true for the state of the UK, we will end up believing that only 'non whites' or Muslims commit rapes and sexual assaults, this is not the case. The overwhelming majority in the UK are committed by British citizens, but you never report any of these, funny that. All the members, except you, on this site are not racially motivated, perhaps this is why they are not obsessed with criminals ethnicity, but you are. Oldfeller is very correct that race, colour, religion are irrelevant, they have no bearing on the cure or prevention of the problem and the prosecution of the offenders. Until you can separate away from you racial agenda I fear this thread will be a bit like groundhog day, going around and around again.

Didn’t take a picture but here’s the scenario. 5/10 year dead oak stem about 40 ft tall has fallen into a house, gutter bent, bit of flashing and a few tiles damaged, not too bad at the moment. Customer (not a previous client) has phoned and asked me to come urgently, when I phoned him back he asked “which company are you?” so I’m not the only one who seen it. It is too risky to climb, it’s just sitting on the rootball, he’s tried to secure it with ropes, but it could still just tip with me on it. I could winch it off but the top could snap and drop onto the roof. Long story short I just turn it down His tone is slightly accusatory towards me. But I tell him, he’s had over 5 years to remove this clearly dead tree, 3 metres from his house, now because he didn’t want to spend the money he wants me to risk my life, and my insurance because of his mistake. Anyway, drove off running it through my mind, I made the right choice, and if you can’t tell them a home truth when you’re in your 60s when can you?

Yes not only expensive spares but no UK stock and has to be had from Europe due to the low numbers of 4x4 variants on our soils.

The colour or ethnicity of the rapists should have no bearing on the crime, or for that matter the unfortunate victim, more emphasis should be directed at eliminating the actual problem not the ratios of skin colour and who posted it on here or elsewhere. I stand by my previous comments about the punishment of convicted rapists, for the crime, no other reason. feck it, give me the legal authority and I'll hang the cnuts all day long.

100% I don’t think enough people even give a minute’s thought to the aftermath of these incidents, what those children, girls or woman went through or live with afterwards. Many are just way too busy throwing the racist accusation around to even care. SP/TA seems to have had a change of heart. Common sense maybe at last.
-
that was my point. and those that vilify those that point it out are more concerned about colour and ethnicity than the plight of the victims.

There is an old lime kiln in a chalk quarry nearby. It may have been dug by the Romans initially as the Roman Road is not far away. My four greats grandfather used to operate the kiln, most of the lime I think would have been used for building but some went on the fields. I used to hear stories from old farm workers of their grandfathers spreading lime from the back of a wagon. Not only was it terrible on the lungs in spite of wearing linen masks, but as they were standing in the stuff it felt as though their feet were on fire, as the lime sucked all the moisture out. I am not too sure of the chemistry, there are many out there on Arbtalk who will correct me, but as I understand it you burn the chalk in a kiln Chalk CaCO3 calcium carbonate, the CO2 burns away leaving quicklime CaO Calcium Oxide which they used for dead bodies in earthquake tragedies . when CaO comes into contact with water you have slaked lime Calcium Hydroxide Ca(OH)2 + heat, which is how it ends up in the fields.

The world’s best-selling chainsaw brand, STIHL, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Since 1926, STIHL has defined the global standard for battery and petrol-powered forestry, landscaping, and residential gardening equipment for professional and domestic users alike. Built to make work in nature easier, STIHL began as a one-man operation in a Stuttgart workshop. Today, it stands as an internationally renowned leader in dual technology solutions. The family-owned company, rooted in petrol-powered products, celebrates its centennial by continuing to lead innovation across both petrol and battery-powered technologies. To mark the milestone, STIHL will host a range of celebrations in Great Britain and across its global network throughout the year. To kick off, STIHL will pay tribute to the famous MS 500i, the world’s first mass-produced petrol chainsaw with electronically controlled fuel injection, by launching a centennial edition of the model. The tool achieves an impressively low power-to-weight ratio of 1.24 kg/kW and features an elegant black design and distinctive centenary detailing. Remaining true to the performance of the original, the special edition model continues to set the benchmark for demanding forestry applications and will be available to buy later in the year from selected dealers. Additionally, STIHL will run a series of competitions on its social channels throughout the year to reward its loyal customers and help them share in the celebrations. Taking place at its Contra House headquarters on 25th June, STIHL will also host a special dealer conference with dedicated awards ceremony, recognising its valued dealer network. The STIHL 100 Awards will shine a spotlight on star dealers, acknowledging the contribution they make to the brand’s continued success. Dr. Nikolas Stihl, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board of STIHL, said: “Any company that reaches the grand old age of 100 hasn’t got there by relying on tradition alone.” “It can only stay successful for a century if it knows its roots, while also recognising when it’s time to start a new chapter. With that in mind, our anniversary is not just a time to look back, but also a moment to recognise the strength that comes from our combination of heritage, engineering expertise, and the courage to innovate.” For more information on STIHL products, visit www.stihl.co.uk or contact your nearest STIHL Approved Dealer. I’ve often wondered what the process was that allowed the authorities to turn a blind eye or ignore the industrial scale rape of children and young girls in the UK by predominantly Pakistani Muslim men. Dempsey has just provided a good example of what was in no small measure a big part of the problem.

Please make sure the chipping is emptied in line with /behind the gate, in the area to the left of the gate.

I didn’t for one minute expect a straight honest answer from you. On the well worn racist accusation path, what is your experience of working overseas SP/TA, asked it before I knowbut hey you can only hope !! Your previous post contained zero facts or evidence as usual. Right on time looks like your beloved asylum seekers just can’t help themselves.

That’s very true but it still stands that certain ethnic groups are substantially more likely to be committing the offences, the tragic thing for the victims is certain people are more likely to be offended by someone pointing out the obvious rather than the by the actual offence.
