Cylinder head for a 241

Does anyone out there have a cylinder head for a Stihl ms 241 c-m? My saw was clipped by a block of timber on the job the other Day, the cooling fins on the cylinder head were smashed off. I got a price from the local dealer for a replacement but I'd have to buy the piston as well, 430 Euro was the price I was given. I nearly had a stroke when I heard the price, to put it simply I can't afford to fix it for that money but I can't afford not to have the saw running given the money I paid for it and it's only a Year old. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have to buy a new cylinder and piston you may as well use it as is till it stops, which it probably will not do anyway. I had an old scooter with lots of fins broken off the barrel and the engine was eventually the only thing left working.

Good man, I'm considering my options. I have asked a few dealers for a trade in but because the 241 isn't that popular they haven't much interest. If it was a 261 it would be a different story. What to do indeed, I might put it up for sale as it would suit a part time user for cutting fire wood.

You'd do well to get 100 quid back i'd say!

Use it, if it dies then throw it n get a new one

I take it that it must have bust all the top cover etc so thats to replace aswell.

If it was me it would have allready been on ebay and i'd have been n bought a new saw by now and back at work :)
