Natural kindling

Hi all, i've been given the job of cutting off about 200 yards of hedge, mainly hazel. The hedge has been untouched for about 40 years,so some lovely firewood, but I will be left with a mountain of brash, most of it 1-2 inch diameter, and up to 12 feet long. It would make excellent kindling, but will people buy it. I know this has been talked about before, but will it be too barky(?) and create a lot of smoke?

Thanks for the replies, some helpful advice advice there. Cutting it up will be the biggest job. I like the 'TR' branch logger sized bags in the youtube videos, visually they look quite salable, that's where I got the idea from, there is just too much lovely clean stuff to cut too just burn or chop the lot. Any ideas on an efficient way of proccessing it?

the best kindling has lots of exposed surface area - leaving it in the round reduces this but does work OK

Dont think it is a commercial idea, but as a one off or for limited amounts for personal use I have been pondering the same thing and wondering if making a small multi-blade knife similar to firewood processors might be a simple way of speeding up splitting the small stuff for kindling :confused1:
