Hello We had some tree surgeons round to cut down some ash trees and poison the stumps. From the little knowledge I've gained from the internet I was expecting the stump to be cut round the edge and the poison to be concentrated there, then the stumps covered with plastic. However it looks like (was dark when I got home) the trunk has been scored deeply in a criss-cross pattern across the middle with the poison (white granules, looks a bit like salt) pushed into the cuts, and not covered with anything. I'm wondering if I should cover with plastic bags before it rains? Thanks in advance for any advice
