  7. Climber needed to work in South West London ! Freelance climbers needed to work in South West London ! Between 1 or 4 days regularly or even just for one offs if available , we have a lot of larger contracts early on in the year on different golf courses and in schools. Hardy Tree Surgeons is a small tree surgery business based in Putney, London which has been in business for over 20 years. The majority of our work is through recommendations and repeat work. We carry out a wide variety of work, private woodlands, golf courses, schools, survey work, installing bat boxes, chainsaw milling and abseiling eyebolts! ( plus a lot of rigging and zip-lining!) We try to maintain a strong work ethic carrying out work that is best for the tree this often means we take longer to carry out the work hopefully achieving better short and more importantly long-term results. We always spend a bit longer to make sure the work is carried out to the highest standard rather than having targets to hit which can cause jobs to be rushed. Ideally self employed sub-contractor initially but potential to go employed/manager at later date please get in touch to discuss further. Pay is dependant on experience (£150 -£180 as freelance) ~ 7:30/8 am - 4/4.30 pm Please email CV or give me a call if interested. 17. Hello, I was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction, my partner has been working for someone for 4 years now and has all the relevant qualifications and tickets. He is hoping to try and do a bit of work for himself which he can hopefully build up into a business when he has enough custom, but he isn't very good at the business/paperwork side....... Which means I have to sort it out, I have no knowledge of business, and don't really know where to start. I have seen an accountant who has helped with some aspects but my main question is..... What kind of insurance do we need? What should it cover? Does it need to be specific? And is there a certain company to go with? I have looked at specialist insurance, small business insurance and also public liability, but I don't want to get the wrong one and end up in trouble/with a big bill, it all just seems a bit confusing and I want to make sure we have the right type of cover, I assume he will just be doing small jobs as it will only be him. Any help is appreciated thank you!!

  21. Hi All, I have been working as a self-employed groundie for various tree surgeons for several years, and this is the first time I have encountered this problem. A guy I have done a couple of days' work for is refusing to pay me for spurious reasons. Does anyone have any tips on what my practical options are. I live in Scotland, so possibly the details of how small claims courts etc work could be different from in England. Any advise much appreciated. Cheers, Dru
