  1. Small business based near Exeter, Climber required with valid Network Rail PTS card. Good rates of pay, ongoing work on track side locally. Friendly team, looking to replace employee who is emigrating - consider PAYE or self employed free lancer. Long or short term. Driving licence and Own transport to get to meeting point every day. Please email me if you are interested. email: [email protected] Thank you John
  2. Hi, finished for the season and the farmer wants his barn back. Not sure how many m3 there are but you should be able to judge by the photos, although I have used some cord since I took the photos. It is all 2-3 years seasoned and has made excellent kindling. Access directly from the farmyard with no height restrictions so easy to get at. Ideally one person needs to take the lot as seen in order to completely clear the barn. PM me if interested. Cheers.
  3. Hi all, I have recently moved to the Finisterre area of Brittanny, France, and I am looking for any kind of experience/ advice available. Having been here for a few weeks already and it not being in my nature to sit still for too long, i have begun to get itchy feet and i am looking to get back into some kind of useful work, I have some basic level french (having a french partner, and a couple of years of leisure time studying) but i feel the only way to get a real education is to be out there talking the language. If anyone knows of anyone companies locally who be willing to take on an intern of sorts, willing to work for little to no pay, i would appreciate the help. CV available on request, key points included; 6+ Years Experience in a fencing company 2+ Years NPTC Qualified (30&31) (maintenance, cross cutting and felling) Thanks all!
  4. Hi all, I need to clear some space in my wood storage area, and I don't have the time or manpower to convert it into firewood sales this winter, so... If there is a firewood merchant out there who wants to stock up, let me know - the wood is free. There's a big pile, I would hazard there is 30 ton but really that's a very rough guess. The vast majority is hardwood, and most of it has been in situ for a year or more. You can access the site with a 7.5tonne lorry, any time of day. Alternatively, if anyone wants just a little slice of the action that's fine too. The area is W11 / NW10, Kensal Green, London.
  5. Hi All As I am packing up and moving abroad I have 2 pairs of chainsaw trousers and a pair of boots that I happy to give away to someone who needs them. My hope is that someone who is staring out in this industry like I was several years ago and needs that first set of trousers to get them going until they can afford to buy their own. I have a pair of Stihl Hi-Flex Type C Allround Protective Trousers (size L) and a pair of Oregon Waipoua type C chainsaw trousers (size M) The boots are Meindl Woodwalker Pro, Class 1 Chainsaw Boot (UK Size 9) Both sets of trousers and the boots show signs of wear. I have re-stitched both sets of trousers in several places as they needed it. Bellow are some photos of them showing the wear that they have had. I live in london so either you could come collect them from me, or you can pay the postage to have them shipped to you. If you have any questions about them please ask.
  6. Hi All, Am after any arb waste or cord wood that is going in or around the Chester area. Obviously if its free then brilliant but am willing to pay the going rate. I'll need enough to keep our house going and that of an elderly neighbour (who I said I'd help this year, yeah more splitting!!). More than happy to take tonnes of the stuff. Have access to big transit van so can transport if easier. Have saw and axe waiting just need wood! Thanks very much everyone and if I've missed anything out feel free to mention it!!
  7. Hi, I need some wood chip to cover my children's play area and some flower beds. Can anyone help me? I live in Chelmsford. Thanks Rob
  8. Hi All, THIS IS UNPROCESSED WOOD FRESHLY CUT We are working on a site on the Uxbridge/ Hillingdon borders just off the A40, over the next few days. Theres a fair old whack of various bits of wood that is free to anyone who would like it. It's.. willow, birch, cherry, ash, robinia, hawthorn, laurel and a bit of oak. Some is in 2'-3' sections (man handleable) and other bits in whole tree sections (up to around 20'). We do not have facilities to load, but you could get any sized truck in to pick it up. PM me with any questions.
  9. Alright guys... I'm a building surveyor when I'm not playing with my Magnum MS880, and today I came across a nice big straight Oak that the customer wants rid of from his garden. It's in Godalming in Surrey, GU7, with good access to the adjacent field and an amenable farmer by all accounts. It's over 3' diameter and about 40' tall, having originally been much bigger, but lost a bough or two in the '87 storm. If I lived locally I'd have it myself but I'm 600 miles from home. Any use to anyone? Seems a shame to burn it! Photos available by email. Ivan. 07790007979.
  10. Hi guys I have just dropped 2 large oaks at Arden, on the west side of Loch Lomond Lomond and they are ready to go to the first taker. The customer had someone lined up to take, but has fallen through - I'm not in a position to be able to remove them and he'd like them removed this week so I said I'd make enquiries. A hiab is necessary as he runs self catering accommodation from here and so doesn't want it logged on site. It is sitting in sections ready to lift at the side of his drive/road. Call me On 07736931373 or Stevie on 07909514555 if interested. Thanks, Neil
  11. Hi, I've got 2 spare tickets for the APF. They are in Ealing. Perhaps a donation to the Children's Charity would be appropriate Here's the trickey part:confused1: PM ME!!! if you want them
