  1. Personally I'd love to be getting in there and getting stuck in. If it was my day job and getting paid for it as well, heaven! Good luck and enjoy your work. 👍
  2. Whatever you buy, battery aside obviously, do this from the first day.
  3. Fastest growing tree that you can plant in the UK I read?
  4. I've the 390 Echo and very happy with it. Comfortable with a 15in bar in anything, but if you want something that will occasionally run an 18in then look elsewhere. It is however a proper "pro" saw, aluminium handle, etc, and feels like it. The one thing you can't appreciate from pictures though is how small it is, because it's made in proportion to a larger saw. It really is a very handy little article Doesn't seem to be imported by the new importer though so you'll probably need to find somewhere with one in stock. They also now seem to insist on dealer servicing for extended warranty which wasn't the case under the old importer so that may need to be considered as well. The new 40v XGT battery range from Makita may be worth a look as any comparisons tests seem to suggest that they are a match for the Husky/Stihl offerings without the bulk of two batteries that was necessary with the 18v. But the XGT batteries are still pretty expensive and you'll probably just be able to afford one of them within your budget (same with Stihl and Husky to be fair) and that means limited cut time. Good luck whichever way you decide to go.
  5. Yeah, the idea that you also have a tractor, while probably useful to most, is also secondary to the fact that it is (IMO) also the best solution for his needs. My ST30 would easily justify it's keep just to cut the grass during the summer even if doing nothing else the rest of the year.
  6. Well actually Gareth, I don't buy Kubota just because it's orange!
  7. Was very, very, close to pulling the lever on a new SXG19 a few years ago. Ended up going orange instead but don't doubt that if I'd bought the Iseki I'd have been entirely satisfied with it.
  8. So???? Urban gardening is becoming quite a thing apparently.
  9. No, acceptance of the fact is entirely adequate.
  10. C'mon now Gareth, who doesn't like an excuse to add another tractor to the inventory.
  11. Tractors are like chainsaws, you can always find a use for another one.
  12. I think you'd be best with a 25-30hp compact tractor to be honest. I've a 30hp Kubota with both a 6ft Major roller mower and a 6ft finishing mower with mulching kit. I got the roller mower first and to be honest it's not used that much now, the 6ft finishing mower is the preferred option as it's quieter, lighter (much), easier to manoeuvrer (much), and leaves a better finish. It will not deal with long grass however, so you can't let it get away from you but I can't imagine you'll deal with it quicker or more cost effectively any other way. You'll also have a tractor!
  13. Some Castrol classic oils still available, and in old style tin cans. Castrol Classic Oils | company homepage | for vehicles 1900-1990s WWW.CLASSICOILS.CO.UK At Castrol Classic Oils, we provide the ultimate in protection for all veteran, vintage and classic car and motorcycle... Possibly influences what sells?
  14. Sometimes you'd swear that Labour are determined to do everything possible to keep the Tories in power.
  15. He's also the leader of the Labour party. Interesting combo!
  16. Used to be, ..................but at the minute can't play for shit!
  17. More migrant hotels in teeny little Northern Ireland than Scotland and Wales combined. Yet it's the lefties in those two regions who seem to support the continued flow of migrants/asylum seekers the most. Hypocrisy, much!
  18. Things are pretty bad when the BBC are flagging it up! Private firms profiting from UK asylum hotels WWW.BBC.CO.UK The government pays millions each day to house asylum seekers in almost 400 hotels across the UK.
  19. Chicken or egg? Was this going to come to light and Sturgeon jumped first? Or was it her departure that brought it to light? A proper shit sandwich whichever way!
  20. Anyone who wishes to see the UK remain unfractured needs to wish with every fibre in their body that the good Mr Yousaf does indeed get the gig.
  21. The nonsense that someone should always be believed based entirely on their gender without giving any consideration whatsoever to the facts. Which then leads to a broader issue within society where people jump to conclusions and make decisions about certain subjects based on a predetermined notion rather than an open mind.
  22. I guess they'd best make an exception for this one! Eleanor Williams jailed over false rape claims WWW.BBC.CO.UK The judge said Eleanor Williams' claims she was trafficked by an Asian gang were "complete fiction".
  23. But they will also be the most vociferous in demanding action once the outworking of this influx start affecting them. Such people are not even worthy of a fool's pardon.
  24. Just wondering why the government is having to spend so much money accommodating the migrants whenever people like this, nevermind the number of BBC employees on extremely generous taxpayer funded salaries, are so supportive of their continued arrival. Surely they could put them up in their own homes, or at least pay for it themselves. A sort of "adopt a migrant scheme" similar to Giant Pandas or Tigers, etc. If they done something like that, it might remove the notion that people like her, plus the good Mr Lineker and his ilk, are actually just virtual signalling nimby whingebags rather than good samaritans with a genuine concern for those less fortunate than themselves.
