  1. One of us is going to have to do it now to find out.
  2. I'm going to disagree. Reckon the 6m is pretty close going by the shed, fence, hedge surrounding it. Depending on where that phone line sits exactly in relation to the tree I'd reckon 1-2 hrs to finish dismantling it.
  3. For sure, but don't make it easy for them.
  4. Think it largely depends on the insured being aware of exactly what they're insuring and what the policy actually says. I believe problems arise when someone has renewed a policy several years running without accounting for the extra stuff they accumulate, or the increased cost of replacing items. And of course when someone claims, and discovers they're under insured, they feel the insurance company has shafted them The onus really is on the insured to make sure the policy is suitable and meets their needs. Renewal time should be looking at everything again to ensure it's suitable, rather than a glance at how much it has increased by.
  5. I wish we could but ironically we'd soon feel the full force of the law.
  6. Not the yard this time, but one of our guys had her van broken into in Edinburgh on Friday night. Had kit with her for a course next week so she's lost helmet, comms unit, a climbing kit and personal camping equipment. They tried and failed to hotwire the van too so it's sustained more needless damage. They'll never be caught, never be investigated. The premise is we're on our own in these matters. Have to say I'm getting really pissed with this happening. I don't particularly include Police Officers in this sentiment as every one I engage with is supportive and it's clear they want to have people's back but their hands are tied. It's a choice made by the authorities to let people suffer it, they have no problem at all enforcing their "ring of steel" in Edinburgh, widespread camera systems and monitoring of us over congestion zones, bus lanes, parking contraventions, traffic lights, etc, etc. They can punish us with ease but they'll do nothing to help us. It's a daily occurrence working around the city to see kids and crims on illegal bikes, quads, scrap motors, going around intimidating people with impunity, taking drugs on the street, I'm approached regularly by junkies offering cheap cheese, drink with security tags on, flashy mountain bikes. I don't know any Council Tax victims that think someone contravening a bus lane briefly in their car is comparable with all that. Struggling to understand why society puts up with it. Just a rant basically. Angry, from Scotland.
  7. But you're going to leave us wondering all day! Give us a clue Bob, make it a quizz...
  8. I'm sure it does but I'm reluctant to Google it.
  9. Morning all. There's a change in the air today here as well, the dry spell is done. Helpful for the countryside, especially all.the hill fires that are burning, but I was quite enjoying things being dry. One good thing we'll get that gorgeous smell associated with rain after a dry spell, it has a name I think? Lazy day for me, just do the chores. Have a good one folks.

  12. Morning all. Nice not to hear an alarm this morning, was due a decent sleep. Helping a mate today, gentle pottering at the paddock in the sun is the order of the day. Have a good one folks.
  13. Been a good day for us.
  14. And to yourself Ted
  15. Morning all. Yesterday was unproductive, you know those days when you'd have been better staying in bed! Shear pins, pto's, hydraulic hoses, cooling systems. A long day and not much went well. Another day today though, and things can only get better. Storm damaged Crack Willow for a change, it's a mess looking at the spec, but what can go wrong... At least the itching has subsided! Have a good one folks.

  17. No water Stubby, hadn't thought of a spider...
  18. Horse fly is definitely the prime suspect. Certainly not midges. Surprised I didn't feel its hooves when it landed on my arm to be honest.
  19. Morning all. Good day forecast. Hoping not to get bitten today, something had a feed on my arm already this week and it's bloody itching. Interestingly running hot water over it stops the itch for a few hours, no idea how it works but top tip! Finished cutting windblow yesterday, the fun bit is done, got a row of brash to chip today and a final clear up. Have a good one folks.

  21. Tipped a skip load of chip in a playground today for a nursery school, the woman came and asked for it to put on the muddy areas. @Hel66, you could try asking firewood suppliers. If they process their own logs they should have bits in their yard that would suit you.
