  1. Was using a friends 161T over the last couple of days, quite a nice little saw but often found the trigger felt awkward. Does the 540i have 2 clips for attaching to harness/strop, like the T540?
  2. Went round a Community Woodland near us called Wooplaw, lovely walk. Santi is always deeply suspicious of the memorial to the late Tim Stead (sculptor and furniture wizard), whenever we pass it.
  3. Stubby, I'm absolutely convinced Trigger meant to call you wise, rather than old. He's just been too busy to clarify!
  4. Another few mm depth of cut there and you'd have a much shorter cable! Nice dog
  5. Think there's been a mix up. You have quoted me but somehow with words from eggsarascal's question about London prices.
  6. Good post
  7. There you go again being ignorant to people. You must know that when you post something on a forum you may be asked a question about it.
  8. I misunderstood, thought you meant concrete you'd put in round posts was lifting. Whatever the purpose of the concrete you laid, I wouldn't think the brand of cement used should matter
  9. What do you mean by 'the concrete is lifting'?
  10. It does look a well thought out trailer. Is he painting PVA on the cuts, what's the purpose?
  11. Is there much point grinding the stumps if it's to be tarmac? Would think the ground will be dug down anyway for the base, if they're small diameter stumps they'd be grubbed out
  12. The guy had his ride on mower out for first cut at the place I was working on Thursday, have heard several mowers today too (South East Scotland)
  13. Thanks for the reply, but there's really no need to be ignorant. In case you were confused about my intention, I was trying to engage you in polite conversation about the apparently substantial tree job you have quoted for.
  14. Would you expand a little on the £10k quote please? Is it site clearance work. What type, age, size of trees. What equipment will you need to hire. Does the price include the cost of getting your tickets first or will you contract workers in. Just interested as it seems a huge step to take for a first job, thanks
  15. Other wobble board musicians are available!
  16. You milled a wobble board musical instrument!
  17. I enjoy watching the Heavy Rescue programme, those guys do some impressive work
  18. Earlier tonight in the Scottish Borders
  19. That's my understanding Paddy, if you fall while 250mm above anchor, you'll travel 500mm before system catches you
  20. Is it not just 500mm max. 250mm above anchor, giving 500mm of slack to fall in to
  21. Would a paper plant pot maker work? They're a small wooden press that shapes a sheet of newspaper into a little plug for sowing seed. Only cost a few quid for the press
  22. Is the photo of Sycamore on Hadrians Wall?
  23. Don't know what to make of this in a shop window
  24. Have read the cloud spotters guide again recently (great book) and enjoyed having time to just sit quietly watching the world. Spent hours looking at the activity round bird feeders, the weather etc. It's been good for the dog too, more time in the warm house instead of being out all the time during winter has benefited his old bones.
  25. The large doors on 2nd floor remind me of a granary in an old farm steading. Maybe for storing goods for transport on canal? The arches being access for horse and cart. Interested to know if there's any sign of a pulley above the big door on gable end.
