  1. Ok tks. Just saw your reply This is also nearby on the wood chip, probably same thing
  2. Interesting. I presume there is an info sheet or white paper on FC website? Haven't seen anything myself of this but can't say I have been looking.
  3. Hi David, Its near a young tree in the grass under mature oaks and otherwise it is a closest to a mulch circle with woodchip. I saw the same on top of a pile of woodchip on the site come to think of it.
  4. to be fair haven't noticed this year yet. Usually have seen it a bit later on in Summer.
  5. Not to be too posh sounding but I use the old Silky long reach. great for sharp and clean cuts on pruning works. Wolf do have many attachments and I use the long reach pole with their hook for removing hang ups.
  6. Haven't seen bracket fungi on Eucalypt. Do you know if the species of Eucalypt matters? There are quite a few that grow here in UK these days. Have you seen G. on other species of Eucalypt?
  7. Lovely looking Laetiporus. Check out the Collins guide to Mushrooms & Toadstools. Will tell you all about it.
  8. Anyone using I-Tree to inventory their trees? Or trees one has to look after? I realise this is a 10 year old post but thought I would just check how things have progressed? I would like to properly inventory and map the trees I have to look after but don't have a funding source at the mo. Any suggestions would be good. I have started with the pen and paper, but that won't be too useful in the long term.
  9. Excellent. I shall pay more attention to the log piles I have made over the last few years.
  10. looks like a good case of Laetiporus sulphureus (chicken of the woods)
  11. Did anyone ever get the full BS on doing bat surveys? At £254 on the BSI website its a fair chunk of cash to pay for a PDF. Otherwise has anyone got any good books on the matter? or can recommend something?
  12. Nice pond. Sorry if I offended you by pond size. Those goslings were on the pond where I work which is 2.5 acres probably why the crows have a much easier time picking off the ducklings. More viewing area from above.
  13. They are lucky to all be in one small pond. Over here the crows pick off most of the ducklings on a regular basis. Haven't seen any ducklings yet this year.
  14. Heard the first cuckoo this morning. What a wonderful sound. No photos of that one though.
  15. I see, yes canker by the looks of it. Normally one would have to cut it all out. The tree doesn't look too unhealthy, but you don't want canker on a fruit tree.
  16. What tree is he? Some sort of fruit tree, cherry? It looks like canker of some sort from the photos that what I can see.
  17. Thanks. I hadn't seen this post. Someone else messaged me and helped me out with it last night. Thanks for the offer though. Much appreciated.
  18. Yes very similar just got an orange beak.
  19. Greylag flew in for 10 minutes today.
  20. Cheers its out of stock on the AA website unfortunately. Anyway will keep searching.
  21. Thanks Derek, that is a better price for sure. I might have to bite the bullet if I can't get any better price on it.
