  1. Nice! I’m guessing you have joined a few sections to make it that wide?
  2. I imagine it’s possible to put a 3/8 sprocket on it and change bar and chain. I have used my 3/8 lo profile bar and chain on my 881 with the right sprocket.
  3. Love the table. Is it pine? By the looks you’ve got the timber you need to finish it off though. 👍
  4. Coast Redwood that must be nice looking timber. One of these days I will have to get a decent Walnut log and mill that just for the pleasure of seeing those fantastic colours. any pictures of the redwood you milled?
  5. I have fairly recently had a fair bit of scots pine to mill up with some trees down on the estate. Milling the pine with a chainsaw mill was a bit of an experience as it is quite different to milling hardwoods. However it is quite satisfying to be able to use the pine for different things around the estate including tree stakes and making as many of my own stickers as I need. Places I have asked to buy stickers from in the past have wanted £1.40 per sticker. While I am not too concerned about having pressure treated stakes as they only need to be in the ground for 12 months or so, having to buy tree stakes rather than just making my own is also quite a good cost saving. Along with that, getting sales from the timber is also a good bonus and I am continually surprised at how far people will travel to come and buy milled timber boards.
  6. Nice mate. Are you going to mill into boards or a mix of things?

    Porting

Seems to make quite a difference. I wouldn't mind getting a couple of saws ported one of these days. 👍 I suppose the question is what's the budget.
  8. Quite right. I was thinking that but, thought it still sounded early. 👍
  9. Most petrol machines will do fine out in the rain seemingly. Its just the electronics that don't like it much. 👍
  10. Yeah it’s a glass fuse I think it’s 2amp or something and not sure if it’s a slow blow fuse. But not in any hurry to repair it. I just use the slow charger and it’s been fine for at least 2 years. 👍
  11. Yeah had it about 3 years before it stopped working. I have a feeling the battery terminals got wet doing work on a rainy day and must have blown it.
  12. Not sure about that problem. My QC330 stopped working completely. There is a small fuse inside that is soldered to a PCB. Haven't got round to changing it out to see if that helps. Were the batteries just used and still warm? Sometimes on quick chargers they spend a bit of time running through a cool down period when a battery goes on charge that has just been used. Might not be anything but that is all I know.... 👍
  13. A few of the waterfowl in good light.
  14. Saw a group of 3 drakes and 1 hen running about on the lawn earlier today.
  15. In the past I once had a piece of ash that gave me similar trouble not getting through the wood. I found two things. When the wood has been growing on a lean when cutting through the tension makes it a lot harder to mill through and obviously once milled it will just split and not been any good and won't dry flat either. Secondly I checked my mill and one of the bolts holding the cross piece in place was out by a couple of mm meaning I could not get through the wood as it would not slide and just kept jamming. Don't know if that helps. 👍
  16. I've had a couple of rhodos give up the ghost after the last couple of very dry spring/summers where I am. I would imagine the rhodo has been stressed more recently and as a result has contracted something such as the rust etc... Looks like its been in a fairly damp spot though based on the lichen, etc... growing on it. You could try giving it a good feed with something for rhodo's and see if that works. 👍
  17. +1 for rust. Have you raked off any dead leaves from beneath it? How long was it growing there happily?
  18. It’s bird nesting season. This duck has laid 15 eggs.
  19. Yeah impact wrench made all the difference. Drivers don’t have the torque you need for those bolts. Also if the bolt is sheared/rounded you might need to use a bolt extractor bit to get it off. 👍
  20. when you say impact driver, do you mean impact wrench? The torque on an impact driver will be less than a good impact wrench. I had issues getting my bolts undone on my wee chipper. Tried heat gun and a lot of welly on the impact driver, didn't budge. Did the impact wrench and it got the toughest bolt out.
