  1. I would have cleaned it back with my sand blaster very gently using sharp sand instead of grit as a lot softer and never damages old wood if done correctly, Light sanding and ready to apply finish.

  7. OK this is write up my street, If it was me i have a pot sand blaster here which i would have used to clean it back to bare wood, Other option is to gently wire wool it or use a fine sand paper. Apply 3 coats of fiddes rugger brown wax and use a polishing brush to buffer it each coat, Then i would apply 2 coats yacht varnish to harden for every day use Fiddes Supreme Rugger Brown Furniture Wax Polish ...   11. Can you clarify 9 months early ?? . Tax year ends 5th april for 2019-2020 which was yesterday so i filed my return 5 am this morning as its the start of a new tax year, My books run april to april to keep in line with HMRC dates, I am always on the button with things like this having been investigated in the past and glad to say all went well but caused a few sleepless nights. I am not sure where you are with 9 months early but be glad to help if you can explain ?? Just read your post again and reading between the lines he owes tax from a previous year but since then he has gone over into the next tax year earning via CIS payments ??
  12. Because they owe me a chunk of money so better in my bank account , I sub contract 3 months a year and earn good coin so pay plenty of tax via CIS 20% . Covers my tax bill and a nice rebate which is why i do it
  13. Done my return tonight so lets see what the fook comes this year, So many extra sections to file due to this virus. Anyone who employs an accountant expect extra charges in the next year or two. I will let the dust settle and expect an appeal further down the line but been there before

Cause i got some work for you down with me as long as you dont mind mucking in, Got a new site of 4 new builds starting on tuesday which is abiut 10 minutes walk from my house, Loads of trees i can have for fire wood but its not wot i am doing there really, I am shuttering 2x5 bedroom house bases first but in between i have a pile of oak logs to mill to big for my bandsaw mill, Then in between that a base to put down in my one yard for a smaller bandsaw mill to go
