  1. They have a very good rating and for someone like you its ideal and they do the rakers at the same time.
  2. What area are you john. Can mill you some up and put through the planer.
  3. I chuck anything on mine but get it really hot first and will burn off and nasty stuff in a couple of minutes.
  4. Wrong there donnk if you go for a more detailed one. Will tell you any CCJ against the company or directors. Payment defaults on accounts or late payments to suppliers. Cash available in really detailed Credit checks but that is unavailable to the average person and only finance companies. Prime example around 3 years ago. My mate was one of 4 directors of a welding firm (Hands on) so never got involved in the day to day office side of things, I had heard that the payments to suppliers were getting later and later so mentioned it to him. He did a check and boy were they in trouble with massive overdrafts and ongoing issues. Allowed him to setup another company of his own and when they went tits up 8 months later he was in good shape and ended up taking most of the work over and got himself discharged so no black mark on his new firm.
  5. You on the sauce or what ??
  6. How far did you take them down ?? Been sharpening saws for 30 years but this chainsaw milling does have a knack of knowing the correct bars with the correct saws as well as little tricks using older worn chains.Just only ever done the odd trunk before alaskan style having a bandsaw mill. Now i have the m7 looking at more chainsaw side of things.
  7. Anyone use these as keep seeing them pop up on youtube. Made by stihl
  8. Only pennies to buy so not to worried about that.Only do mine every 3/4 sharpens anyway
  9. Its a car port so green timber is fine. Spray or hand apply a decent solution
  10. One decent load of larch delivered £500 and 1 day to mill what he used in that. With being in lock down is my point so time factor does not come into it if cannot work anyway.
  11. Your point being ??
  12. Good posting and interesting read. What ways do you guys use to set your depth gauges?? Most just use the depth gauge tool but they can vary over time due to constant filing.
  13. Might be asking a daft question but with you being in the tree game could you not have milled most of that timber?? 5K seems a lot and and would have got a brand new woodlands and only roofing sheets to pay for.
  14. Takes a bout £5 to get a full credit check done on any company and its very detailed.
  15. If you read the thread proper its a draft for steve not the website. If steve has his age then he can put established 1986 /1995 or what ever date applies. Its not rocket science really is it.
  16. It says example and if you look at the date i put he would not be even working Unless he is captain TOM
  17. Mike as steve and myself mentioned keep it basic. I have recently done a website in just a few hours. Do it like this for steve to work with. 1) Your personal details. Example Name - mike williams Born - 28/08/1931 qualifications ect 2) Website details Name of website example ( RICHMOND TREE REMOVALS) Services offered Areas covered Your experience (EST 30 YEARS) Always looks good 3) Any photos you have add as many as possible so steve can work with more choice Just sections like above and you will slowly build up the content required. Hope it helps les
  18. Yes that would be standard to a big utility but you are dealing with a firm that will not go tits up on you.
  19. What do you consider the best milling bars and chains.Have bought some real nice kit in the last few weeks (M7 logosol) New saws so looking to complete the package as my current setup for alaskan type milling is stihl 038 with a 36 inch lo pro bar-3/8 ripping chain.
  20. Just do it.Big firms with bad credit marks against can have big problems requiring credit them selves then. I have found the best payer of all are the big house builders like barret and persimmon
  21. 30 days is ample time for anyone even big firms. Why should someone have to wait 90 days to get paid. Just taking the piss.
  22. Its really not hard when you get started. Stick to the basic points and steve will build on it with you.
  23. We all get them
  24. Just love the preachers on here.Cash jobs i bet he does. Only ever met 2 people who wanted to pay vat on a big job (extensions) i built.
