  1. Good posting and interesting read. What ways do you guys use to set your depth gauges?? Most just use the depth gauge tool but they can vary over time due to constant filing.
  2. Might be asking a daft question but with you being in the tree game could you not have milled most of that timber?? 5K seems a lot and and would have got a brand new woodlands and only roofing sheets to pay for.
  3. Takes a bout £5 to get a full credit check done on any company and its very detailed.
  4. If you read the thread proper its a draft for steve not the website. If steve has his age then he can put established 1986 /1995 or what ever date applies. Its not rocket science really is it.
  5. It says example and if you look at the date i put he would not be even working Unless he is captain TOM
  6. Mike as steve and myself mentioned keep it basic. I have recently done a website in just a few hours. Do it like this for steve to work with. 1) Your personal details. Example Name - mike williams Born - 28/08/1931 qualifications ect 2) Website details Name of website example ( RICHMOND TREE REMOVALS) Services offered Areas covered Your experience (EST 30 YEARS) Always looks good 3) Any photos you have add as many as possible so steve can work with more choice Just sections like above and you will slowly build up the content required. Hope it helps les
  7. Yes that would be standard to a big utility but you are dealing with a firm that will not go tits up on you.
  8. What do you consider the best milling bars and chains.Have bought some real nice kit in the last few weeks (M7 logosol) New saws so looking to complete the package as my current setup for alaskan type milling is stihl 038 with a 36 inch lo pro bar-3/8 ripping chain.
  9. Just do it.Big firms with bad credit marks against can have big problems requiring credit them selves then. I have found the best payer of all are the big house builders like barret and persimmon
  10. 30 days is ample time for anyone even big firms. Why should someone have to wait 90 days to get paid. Just taking the piss.
  11. Its really not hard when you get started. Stick to the basic points and steve will build on it with you.
  12. We all get them
  13. Just love the preachers on here.Cash jobs i bet he does. Only ever met 2 people who wanted to pay vat on a big job (extensions) i built.
  14. So you declare every penny you earn then (think not) Someone offer you cash or cheque and you say cheque and pay tax on it ?
  15. What is the problem ?? Got paid for the job ok and does not matter which address.
  16. I put a separate comment about einhell and the guts of a dewalt saw. You made a valid point on speed though thanks les
  17. You are not trigger andy under another name are you. Who said anything about chain speed (not me) Must be that scottish air
  18. Maybe worth looking ?? I have switched to using einhell simply down to the German quality and its a third of the price of dewalt. Picked up a cordless chainsaw yesterday and thing is an animal for a battery tool and has the feel of a chainsaw.
  19. If you ever strip down the guts of a dewalt they are really tough inside very well built but as you said a little bit of a let down on the feel of it.
  20. Day out today and got back at 6.30 this evening. Got the logosol m7 setup and put 4 year old seasoned oak ready to try tomorrow.
  21. Are you in australia then ?? They are all down under ?
  22. Sooner the better you shut shop on there ⚔️
  23. Only if needs must these days (alaskan) style. Day out tomorrow soul picking up the M8 logosol ? 5 hrs travelling at least but should be worth it.
  24. Not like you can even go to the pub to unwind
  25. Superb and we are a proud nation when it comes to singing.Have a look at this video
