    Jokes???

My first car ran on dizzy with points i’ll have you know ?
  2. Swap your fuel for a few weeks, see how stuff reacts.
  3. My god its vesp reincarnated!!!
  4. My guess is the metal work is getting too hot, or its your fuel. Anything else would have risen its head to a bad state/scenario before now.... i.e plasterboard, building materials around the flu etc as you have said its been happening for a few seasons of burning. I have a stove fan purely to direct some heat in to my hallway, as a result of this i have a smell of residue burnt beech wood when i poke my nose under my staircase at the far end of the room by the door to the hallway. I just light scented tea lights and diffusers to mask the smell every now and then.

    Stihl 025

A common fix these days with the likes of the 017/018/021/023/025 etc is to replace with a cheap chinese version of the pump, they tend to wear quick and leak from their bodies considerably more than a genuine one does once worn whilst working under pressure. Spuds theory is best, try a little pressure and check your area for leakage.
  7. Yes.... if you read wiki’s interpretation properly, it states that the engines were derived from the PSA versions before the amalgamation in 1998...... when they became joint ventures...... ford/volvo etc and you can see mini were in a joint venture with PSA, no mention of Ford. Not here for an argument, was just a general comment which you’ve proved to be right from wiki.
  8. Was referring to the 1.6hdi engine you made reference to, but i cant find the original post? It appears to have disappeared.
  9. Might sound daft, have you tried a different brand/supplier of fuel/briquettes?
  10. Thanks Dan, shall look at all suggested [emoji106]
  11. Hiya Dan, which model is yours? Had a quick look on their website and theres quite a bit of choice, thinking of possibly getting a splitter for home.

    Stihl 028

I’m not 100% sure but i dont think that all the 028 variations will fit each other. I’m sure i’ve read bits before about the 028 and people struggling to source one. Could be a lucky 2nd hand find or maybe a purchase from across the pond that’ll sort ya. Is yours completely shot or could someone braise/weld what youve got?
  13. Its not fords engine, its a PSA developed engine. The add-ons and auxiliaries, electronics etc all play a part on the engines performances etc so oil types/grades can differ between brands/manufacturers.
  14. I’m not in a new build but did knock the hell out of my house (1970 build bungalow) and insulated it to the hilt using superquilt on underside of roof etc, fully reroofed and replastered throughout, fresh 7”x2” timbers forming upstairs flooring etc, all fibre/wool filled/insulated in floors and studdings, so very thermal efficient for its build style/type, trying to mimic new regs etc. Got a 5kw burner installed (woodburner) but also have alternative grate to accommodate multi-fuel burning. Its enough for me, just light it on a night when its cold...... just for that cosy/homely feeling more than owt [emoji106]
  15. If you wana burn through the night in to the following morning to then continue fuelling the fire again then your only hope is using coal/briquettes, so your in to a multifuel stove. If you just want a snug warm evening in and some aesthetics of a night then woodburning would be fine. ?‍♂️
  16. How old your Bordeaux Don? Love em, just a shame they tend to have a short life, really loyal dogs [emoji106]
  17. The sleepers i got were 8’ long and 8”x4” thick, when installing them i dug out the floor to find my levels, but then decided to dig another 8” out on top of that, i then refilled the 8” with clean limestone for the bottom sleepers to sit on, and covered the sides too partially, as to hopefully stop them standing in/holding water (quite heavy clay ground where i am, pics to follow) and then like i say i lined the inside of them top to bottom which will defo be aiding in their survival. Think i paid £9 a sleeper back when i did them, but collected them myself.
