  1. @Stihl123
  2. Just call forst service mate, they have always looked after me? Service second to non? I reckon they would either have a solution for you or just do it for you Looks like a new machine as well!? How you liking it?
  3. Perfect mate ? do you use for stickers? Need a bulk amount of them...any recommendations?
  4. Look forward to seeing this milled!
  5. Its called live edge?
  6. That's funny...completely different experience here with the kombi set...love it. It's the 111 mind you but just so easy and convenient to transport...not had an issue with connecting either. Is 2 or 3 years old now and gets thrown around a lot.
  7. Hi mate Recommend this: Alaskan Mill Videos - Everything You Need To Know WWW.CHAINSAWBARS.CO.UK Browse through our instructional videos to learn everything there is to know about... Get all you need in the way of gear etc and very helpful guide I started by just giving it a go...see if a mate has a mill you can borrow and go for it...learn on the job. Otherwise happy to answer questions as and when ?
  8. Great...get two weeks holiday paid for? Anyone need any milling done..just leave on my doorstep and I'll do it in the hall??. That'll keep me busy?
  9. Ah??I'll have to charge two weeks labour for two weeks quarantine
  10. Hi mate, I don't know where your based or if your interested in doing this yourself or not but let me know if your interested in a milling service?
  11. Well....there's quite a number of decent backpack blowers out there! Where do we start? How are you defining decent?? Are you a stihl or husky fan to start with maybe? What typical job size? What's your budget? Etc etc.... It's a bit like ...can anyone recommend a decent chainsaw?....??
  12. Possibly yeh...just don't really have them hanging around..wouldn't bother buying any for it...it's just convenient to be able to move it round the yard
  13. Admittedly no?probably use the groundies saw for them if we ever need to
  14. Thanks mate, hadn't actually tried...thought I'd offer it here first?? Have got a lot of redwood coming up soon so I'll have more available shortly
  15. It's very handy...when you can find a pallet strong enough to take them? right bugger when the pallet breaks and you have to re-stack the lot
  16. Sena SMH10R all day long mate? get the helmet you want and you can pretty much fit to any of them...whilst they are a bit pricey to start with they are worth their weight in gold on large projects. Even when you can listen to your latest music on those lasts home straights of a big job?
  17. Just give each saw a quick blast off with the airline after each job, includingair filters...keeps them clean enough....any thing that doesn't remove with that clearly shouldn't be plastered on the saw if your using it right?
  18. Hi all Milled boards for sale. Collection from Southampton area. Message for more details on what's available ?
  19. Totally understand and yeah some timber is never going to split with an axe quickly. Sounds like you have it sussed ? Just thought I'd ask? Neat set up there, you can tow around too?
  20. Nice bit of kit?just strikes me you could have split a log that size with an axe and made a cup of coffee in the time it takes?
  21. A few other shots coming through from the team ??
  22. Hi mate It is the granberg alaskan mill with the two sections option...admittedly I was using rails that were full length on this job rather than split in half but still had the support rods in place. I have the conversation about panther's but haven't come across any issues with the granberg yet ? I know a guy that runs double ended milling on a cheap Chinese copy of the alaskan and haven't heard any complaints yet?? I don't post on here much but guess its always good to be knocked around so maybe more content coming up....watch this space?
  23. Highly recommend the double end set up over the single end. Was a little dubious going for it cos of the set up time but what you loose in set up is more than double made up in cutting time...struggle to jam the saws too...#2x880s?
  24. Some pictures of yesterday's work...big old redwood that we couldn't move off site without a crane...worked out better to mill on site...often the way with big stuff
  25. A few from back in the days we could go anywhere and do anything...albeit 2 weeks ago? Day in the woods on an old beech. sorry looks like some of them have come out fuzzy...
