  1. it would be a fecked up world where peoples actual real time safety relies on a dottery old man with a loosening grip on his marbles.
  2. Mostly because the idiots on twatter and linkedin will be saying it was a terror incident and that the police withholding the information is proof of that if they didn't. So they released the basics. Remembering that this was the same police force that withheld the Southport attackers details which saw the Southport Mosque being attacked by the angry mob on account of a rumour. They are having to look at the world being populated by idiots manipulated by Twatter and Linkedin. Though Sime42, I reckon they will do the same on an assessment with a case by case basis.
  3. That's the interpretation of the written law, though the law makers update the laws as necessary if case law does not do as they want (which is the fault of the law makers for not describing the law properly first time round of if society changes). The judges aren't making the laws and if they aren't fit for purpose they can repeal them either.
  4. Without being argumentative, the judges get to that point through years of study, work, experience, case law, more study, more experience and so on. All they do is apply the law as it is written and ensure that it is applied properly. The elected officials make the laws.
  5. So the US had its Memorial day holiday yesterday, remembering the soldiers who died in the wars. The Tool, Trumpy, Twatters: "Happy Memorial Day". Not sure it is the sentiment I would use in a day of remembrance, but it did make me wonder if he is actually aware of the real world.
  6. My comment was based on the extensive experience and knowledge of US analysists who have looked at the bill in detail, assessed the numbers and come to a conclusion. I don't think any of them were bored anonymous government office workers, I suspect that with all of Trumps U turns those analysists who work for the US government are living in busy and exciting times. Though I did read a few sources and they were all coming to the same conclusions, poorer get poorer, rich get richer, US debt gets larger.
  7. Unfortunately with his Big beautiful Bill that's passing through the system just now, there are cuts to services such as Medicare (usually used by the poorest) and some tax rises (prediction is anyone earning under $50k will see tax rises this year), but these cuts are offset by tax cuts (for the richest), with the predicted net difference being 3.6 trillion added to their national debt over 10 years. I don't think you can have an efficiency drive and cut taxes simultaneously to reduce debts. What you can do is refinance and kick the debt to be repaid a few years in the future, long after your time in office is over and long enough for that generation to forget whose politics added to the debts in the first place. I am sceptical though how much of the efficiency drive is creating efficiencies in the system and how much is a vindictive drive to cut that Trump doesn't like or has an argument with. That is not creating efficiency, they are government cuts.
  8. I don't think the story shows that Macron is unable to do his job, or will his politics be affected, all it is is a gossip piece which no doubt will be shared hundred of times in "Hello Magazine" and on "This Morning". Irrelevant to us all really, but if teenage girl magazine gossip floats your boat then so be it. So my take in the story, this story is so so that important you feel that we should all know about it so I took a read. 17 hour flight from Paris to Vietnam (plus 'getting up', travel to the airport, clearing security, duty free, a pint or 2 at 'spoons), a night time arrival indicates a very early start in Paris, then have to dress smart in a cramped aircraft, line up at the door, smile for the cameras (again), and have your head in gear to meet new people and make polite conversation again... Not sure but after all of that any smart comment is likely to be taken the wrong way. So my take, Macrons marriage is still secure, he just made a smart comment that his wife didn't appreciate at the time. So back you go to the gossip magazines.
  9. of course another assumption from a 2 second clip to give the full story.
  10. We pay about £30 for 50kg I think, delivered.
  11. Biting what?
  12. what are you on about blithering idiot. Assumptions... making an ass out of you again.
  13. Which is what I was doing, I know you read the above because you commented. Highlighting a story that you obvously missed of what Trump has been doing this week. It is a bill he is quite proud off, but also a bill that is benefitting his rich mates disproportionaly to the poor of his country, while saddling the US with an extra debt for the next 10 years. Quite significant in US politics, and as I said, surprised you missed it. No grandstanding, certainly not empty nonsense with the far reaching implications.
  14. You surprise me, am sure you saw this on your social media. Trumps 'Big Beautiful Bill' passed it's first pass - by one vote - which he has been touting for weeks as the best bill ever, a beautiful bill, the most fantastic (you get the picture, he was proud of it). It's financial effects will be an increase in borrowing by 360 billion a year (dwarfing Musks savings as I highlighted above), a reduction in taxes for the rich coupled with a reduction in what the poorest get in terms of medical assistance should the need it - effectively the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. There are other things in there but financially that is a fair summary. Surprised you haven't read into it, I guess you should so you can join in with the discussion instead of firing out your routine insults.
  15. If you don't like the message shoot down the messenger eh? Looking forward to your next insults. Or you could up your game and discuss, or defend. Your silence on Trumpy from his 2 biggest Arb fans speaks volumes that his big bill is undermining all that Musk was brought in to do (and with massive publicity too). 360 Billion a year isn't a saving, it is a loan, more debt on future generations.
  16. Awww, upsetty feelings cause Trump is getting some stick there? awww.
  17. I'm going to be feeling sorry for Elon Musk tonight (??? yeah, true story). He spent 100 days working with Trump to eliminate waste and lower spending in the US government system, he wore a cheese hat, danced on stage, did his Nazi salute, watched his Tesla stocks plummet, humiliated by standing next to baby Trump (the IT genius who - get this - can turn on a laptop), and then the first bestie was dumped by Trump. I could paraphrase this by saying he debased himself working for Trump to eliminate spending. And then Trump passes his Big Beautiful Bill - which, at first estimates - are going to add 360 Billion a year to the US national debt Poor Musk, all that work for nothing.
  18. We get a lot of Canadian Salmon in the supermarket here - passing the Scottish salmon US bound mid atlantic flight
  19. As I get older 12 people per km sounds more and more appealing!
  20. With any compehension and ability to understand you'd see that the links support Sime42 words "The act of establishing "alternative facts" probably. AKA lies". A little bit of understanding and ability would have shown that the links have nothing to do with statesmanship, just Trumpy and his varied ability to tell greater or lesser alternative facts. You really should try harder with your comprehension, to avoid looking like - how do you put it - ahh, yes, to avoid making yourself look like a lot of a tool
  21. So Trumpy is right then a genocide!! Except in a moment of calm and rationality I thought I'd better check. Unfortunately Trumpy and his honest truthfull ways might have been badly informed. Are white South Africans facing a genocide as Donald Trump claims? WWW.BBC.CO.UK US President Donald Trump says a genocide is taking place in South Africa, a claim a judge dismissed as "imaginary". reuters.com WWW.REUTERS.COM Fact check: Trump’s false suggestion of a ‘genocide’ against White farmers in South Africa | CNN Politics EDITION.CNN.COM There is a lot of violent crime in South Africa. There is not a genocide against White farmers there. And check me, gone all JohnsoD with th million page long links! The fact checking seams to disagree with Trumpy, in a bigly liar liar pants on fire style. Couldn't believe myself either!
  22. Ahh, back to highlighting foreigners who have committed crimes and yet not a peep about the British ones who have committed the same. Deadly silent unless they are foreign - almost as if the crime is irrelevant just the criminals nationality. And outraged that a British Man, Robinson, is being prosecuted for a crime. Why is that?
  23. But this clandestine elite body of unelected nobodies that our own Nigel Farage was elected into to represent some of the UK....
  24. Dragons Den... they don't generally invest on an idea, generally you need to have product produced and sales, many investors are the same. Bank want to be sure they get their cash back. Investors take a risk and so want greater rewards, Can he make small volume sales for now to build up evidence of sales, the product works, customer feed back and a bit of a cash reserve which might help him out with investors or the bank. Obviously we don't know what he is doing, mass producing tooling could be a lot but maybe smaller scale could be done? Even part time to get some sales behind him?
