I’d certainly not like to take that job on either. 😳 Im in the middle of milling 6” beams for a cabin build. But that’s simple enough with a Bandsaw. I’ve just bought a mid-range cordless DeWalt Circular Saw. I was quite impressed when it ripped through 2” oak. Cross grain though. I do like my big Makita. 😁

A Lucas or Peterson Mill is a Circular Saw. Obviously a Swing Blade but a Circular Saw none the less. I can cut 6” with my Makita Circular Saw. If I had 6” Slabs I could easily cut Beams. Milling enough wood to build a house with an Alaskan is certainly not an inviting prospect but certainly possible depending on what you hope to achieve. Perhaps he’s just looking to build a frame with it and not the fixings? Greenhearts the main issue here and most likely the reason he’s here. I don’t know why you’re being such a knob about it?

Well I’m with you on that one. 😁 You might think Im all for regulations and rules but for the most part I find them stifling and a hindrance. But without them we’d end up like the countries I mentioned earlier. Based on your ideals is there a country in the world you feel upholds them? If so which is it?

The Slums in India are farked. The Favelas in Brazil are fecked. 90% of Africa is farked. In fact any place where there is no regulation in place is farked. Would you say Scandinavia is farked? They have more stringent laws and regulations in place than us and it’s a beautiful clean place. Unless you go to the areas where the immigrants congregate and that’s fecked, just like where they come from. Wise up, eh?

Not really. But then so much of our laws seem insignificant when viewed with such a limited perspective. Planning permission for example, is putting up a 6’ fence at the front of my property such a crime? When you look at the disgusting mess other travels leave in their wake and the crime that seems to follow them perhaps in the grand scheme of things it’s just as well it’s as regulated as it is, which is not very much.

I’m totally knackered now though. Turning 30-32” Oak logs on my Tod is no fun. The Cedars nice though. Smells amazing. What course are you on?

It’s all for the same customer. Dunno what the Lime is for to be honest. I think they thought it was Oak. 🤣 They had so many trees come down in last years storms. They are currently building a very impressive Pool House and the Oak is supposedly going in there. The Cedar is for the Sauna and decking. Some serious money getting pumped in.

Nice day out milling Oak, Cedar and Lime. Left the mill there and will do another day milling Cedar again. Really maxed out the mill on the Oak.

We had to replace multiple PCBs with ours. Ended up sticking in an Esse Ironheart. Much better.
