1. Thanks Martin! As far as I know, the bigger mogs had a blanked off gear, not sure what speed that would take one up to?! A reverse drive sounds like something useful as well! One of the reasons I thought about having an mb is there 40k boxes and front suspension making them more comfy on the road? I also like the older gear, no electrics to go wrong
2. Evening all I'm thinking of starting the search for an mb trac to replace one of my u900's. I just wanted to see what people's experiences are of them. I've heard a lot of good things about them. I'd be looking for a 6 pot so 1000? up to a 1500. Thanks in advance
3. I'm liking the pics lads! I don't feel so bad having gear that's 10yrs older than me!
4. Just bought a ford 2000 for log splitting and the saw bench And it depends if you want to class a mog as vintage?! Think my old girl is 1973 off the top of my head but she's out with chipper or trailer working for her living
5. I've ran a tp760 on the mog, made lovely chip and would happily take 8/9 inch timber all day. No stress control but never bothered me, also have a old (80's) turntable 6 inch Schliesing, not legal and no stress control but she is a beast
6. There not just a standard 406 with buckets on, if I could afford to build one from scratch, I'd start with one of them!
7. I'd be interested in seeing how the mog gets on, always fancied doing it with my u900 +1 for the pics!!
8. They also smoke if they sit just ticking over for long periods like hiab work or stand idle for a while as well. Should clear after a bit, unless it's been tweaked, no poke with out smoke
9. Pto would be best way to transfer the engine power through to the winch( unless you have an old mog with under belly pto for hydraulics) werner are a great winch and pritty quick, just trying to find one and the price of one are the issues!
10. She's a u900 406 with lifted cab 😊
11. The finger bar cutter can cut about 4 inch branches (ie the size of branch that's in the cutter in the top photo) great for over grown hedges and highway tree pruning. Rover90 did you see it on the tractor pull course? The doka double cab had a go as well
12. I used to work for a guy who only ever put his back cut under the height of his gob. It always took more pulling over than it needed but he wouldn't be told. Then again this lad tried to make a poplar 'jump' clear of a wall and over a single track road.... Imo slightly above the gob is best (as said before, about an inch) but what do I know
13. unfortunately if they want it they will find a way to have it! :-(
14. Bastards! It's never nice hearing that gear has been knicked! Ping the dealers an email and let them know, you might be suprised how fast info goes round the mog world. Stick it on unimogclub.Uk might be worth a try?? And as said, farmwatch is a good place as well. Good luck, hope it's found soon

Did you manage to go round a round about or over it!?
16. I'd agree. Sounds like your peeing in the wind with that one, but as it's been said, customer is always right and if your get paid to reprune after your advice to fell then it's there own fault
17. Well I've just got back from a weekend with unimog club uk. Thought you might like a couple of pics
18. Yeah no problems. To be fair the side feed can be a pain unless ur chipping into a trailer and vehicle. Good luck ☺
19. Yeah there was a cheap front mount and ac price had a rear mounted one
20. The 760 is an older version, but simple. No stress control on it but to be honest, I was running it on a 115hp tractor or the black mog which is over 130hp with no problems. It's supposed to be 10 inch feed but most will contest that and say 8inch, again I've never had a problem. 3 blade chipper so good quality chip (I bought it as I was looking at doing wood chip for a boiler but it didn't happen hence why it surplus now) Sorry not the greatest pics but can get better ones if you want.
21. Looks like I might be selling a tp760. She's a decent chipper but side feed.
22.
Now then. Give me a shout if your interested in my tp chipper. It's an old 760 in good condition. Cheers Casto

23. Yes, I'll have to sell it. I'm only one man and having 3 chippers is a bit much
24. Think my schliesing is 30 yr old now:lol:
