He’d need good Binos seeing as that island is on the west coast off Galway
-
No I’d say you are right it literally stinks 🤷♂️

Well he was part of the team who got us to where we are now !! If he had the answers to all the problems all along why didn’t he use that knowledge then rather than tell us he’s gonna do it now. For me he is from a massively wealthy multi millionaire background that has benefitted from an immoral tax break who has zero knowledge of the reality of things for most people. I look at where we were pre covid and where we are now and try and look at whom-and what individuals or organisations/corporations have benefited from the past two years MSM promoted madness !!. Yeah the conspiracy comments will be made but throw in an avoidable but massively profitable war as per normal with the Democrats and just look around at what’s going on and what we are paying out just to get by !!!. The answer to your original question is I’m not sure it was a blatant hit but at the same time I do not think certain people got the leader they wanted and also think the current selection criteria was devised to be able to select a suitable candidate without the need to put it to the party members. I hope I’m wrong. For me Sunak is far from the answer.

Rishi Sunak: Former chancellor who lost out last time APPLE.NEWS A former finance analyst, Rishi Sunak was runner-up in the previous leadership contest. Well here comes the supposed saviour etc etc. People have a very very short memory as it was undoubtedly his irresponsible fiscal policies and support of lockdown madness that has massively contributed to the current mess we are in. Maybe he is the candidate the markets etc wanted after all, to keep the cash flowing in the right direction. I think this is when the covid gullible are gonna realise that it really is payback tine.

Definitely not no In the case of the article about the sea green base units the fact is we are supporting thousands of jobs in China whilst at the same time ignoring the opportunity to rebuild an industry here on our own shores. Insanity as far as I’m concerned.
-
Absolutely disgusting and totally exposes the lies that politicians both sides of the border and the green fools spout. It would create tens of thousands of jobs if someone at least had the balls and long term vision to put things in motion to ensure a minimum local content.
-
People are utterly oblivious to what’s going on, the current pricing system offered to foreign firms to install and operate wind farms is literally a licence to print money. But hey let’s get worked up about BJ having a pint during one of those ridiculous lockdowns instead of opening our eyes 🤷♂️🤷♂️.

Regards inflation etc ex governor of the BOE was being interviewed this morning and blamed the actions of western governments during covid and the war in Ukraine for the current financial mess. He didn’t actually mention brexit once !!. His view on Sunaks action ie printing vast amounts of free money that resulted in a situation where more money was chasing a supply chain lockdown induced ever decreasing quantity of goods etc was that it resulted in where we are now inflation wise. Quite frankly for the fools out there who clamoured for more and more restrictions and support you really didn’t have to be a financial guru to see that long term it might not work out quite well🤷♂️🤷♂️. On the same show you had Starmer peddling fantasy economics where we are all gonna get more for less yet refusing to explain how he’s gonna sort it out other than a windfall on oil and gas companies ( no mention of the huge extra profit that renewables and all other energy companies have made ) apparently Labour will quadruple offshore wind and there will be a green jobs bonanza??? We don’t build any of it here, we don’t install it, we don’t make the steel that most of the structures are constructed from etc etc, yet not once did anyone question him on the facts, the UK and Scotland in particular right now is being dishonestly portrayed to the gullible masses as a world leader in renewables. Not sure how we are supposed to cope during periods of low wind but the blatantly obvious nuclear energy part of a sensible mix never seems to be on Labours agenda. What we are is a tax payer funded massive cash cow for the predominantly overseas companies carrying out this work which will ultimately be paid for by you and me. But let’s not let the truth get in the way of a bit of media spin and distraction.

Why we’ll be driving a record number of older cars in the next five years APPLE.NEWS By 2027 around 15.4 million cars on Britain’s roads will be at least 10 years old, new analysis by Auto... Not surprising when you screw people to the floor with high taxes, mortgage cost of living etc to pay for utterly insane previous decisions. You have to wonder if a few political types with an ounce of common sense are gonna realise this proposed ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030 is pure green agenda driven fantasy that is gonna make life very very difficult for people in particular rural communities. Might have to plan for a long term diesel keeper if they don’t. I had a BT open reach electric vivaro at my place a few days ago, driver was from Bradford on contract work in Aberdeenshire for a week, 14 hrs to get from Bradford to Aberdeen with 7 charges enroute, he said it was like driving with the fuel warning light on constantly, always on lookout for a charging point.

You mention the £40 billion black hole J !!. Did people not think the absolutely irresponsible throwing around of so called free money during the previous couple of years covid lunacy would not at some point come back to haunt us. The outrage we saw and still see towards political types of all parties whom didn’t adhere to the restrictions should have been directed at the whole concept of lockdowns and restrictions themselves at the time. I look back at that period and still can’t believe people were that easily cowed. It’s a whole different topic but the fact is our state or local government ran services including the beloved but grossly wasteful NHS are as big a money pit as you will ever see, like yourself I don’t have a clue as to how it’s fixable under the current political system’s, but was that in reality the desired end result 🤷♂️.

Climate protestors who glued themselves to Volkswagen's floor are left in the dark APPLE.NEWS At close of office hours, the carmaker switched off lights and heating and locked the doors. Well it made me chuckle anyway.
-
Well J the MSM and the internet political experts will feast on this for a few days but in reality once they have had their fill it will be someone else’s turn be it Tory or Labour. It’s a shit show big time, can that knee taking slimer Starmer and Labour sort things 🤷♂️I don’t think so. One thing that I’m convinced of is the current situation owes as much to the two years of utter covid insanity and what it cost, as it does the likes of Brexit or the war in Ukraine.

Majority of Tory party members want Liz Truss to resign now - as Boris Johnson tops list to replace PM APPLE.NEWS The majority of Conservative Party members want Liz Truss to resign now - just six weeks after voting... 😂😂well you can’t deny he had a democratic mandate. Things are so ****************ed who cares any more.
-
Yeah for sure J but that BLM knee taking is enough for me to never acknowledge him as worthy of being PM. I look at the likes of Wallace and Mercer etc as possible candidates but in reality I agree with a previous post in as much that the last couple of years fiscal insanity has proven to be the straw that broke the camels back. I’d say a shit storm is coming very soon and the nanny state won’t be there to pick up the pieces.
-
I’ll maybe not vote J if those are the choices. I can not see that woke, knee taking millionaire pseudo Labour whiner bringing anything to the table.
-
Vote for Starmer if you want total diarrhoea.
-
One of the biggest things for me and I hope others over the past few weeks is the influence of the so called markets on people’s lives. It’s hard not to think many in that world are now a lot happier with things than they were pre covid. J, you could put the greatest individual in the history of UK politics in charge and if the Markets or MSM don’t approve then they’ll be finished long before they get the chance to implement any long term sensible strategies rather than the succession of quick temporary patch ups.
-
Yeah the tories are making a right mess of things at the min but as long as I live I’ll never vote for this bugger.

Jeremy Hunt Says UK Faces Financial Challenges Of "Eye Watering Difficulty" After Tearing Up Budget APPLE.NEWS Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has has confirmed a major overhaul of Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng's... Payback time for the covid madness by the looks of it. . The money tree that everyone got used to has it would seem got nothing left. Great if you had a good run off it, pretty damn unfair if you got zero during that period of temporary insanity and are now gonna be helping to pay for it.
-
Yet the current opposition wanted restrictions and furlough etc to go on for longer and fought at every opportunity to achieve that. I tend to agree J that it’s not fixable. Was that the end game !!. Im in Glasgow for a gig at min and the state of the place and amount of beggars is absolutely shocking, politicians of all parties have failed this country massively for years now.
-
I look back at the situation pre the covid farce vs where we are now and just wonder if things are fixable quite frankly. Be it by the Tories or Labour or whatever coalition ends up in power, worse again up here with the SNP/Green incompetents banging the independence drum.
-
Couple of blatantly simple things for me J currently in the UK there are far too many riding on the wagon rather than pushing or pulling it, regards brexit which I know is one of your pet hates along with the Tories, well let’s be brutally honest and admit the unregulated mass immigration allowed by the previous administration certainly lit the fire that became brexit.
-
That’s a good days work and a bloody good return for sure 👍
-
No probs Les I was just being picky 🤷♂️ On the topic in question, great people over there, did a job a few years ago and found the Iranians we dealt with to be friendly and open with a desire to show you what their country had and meant to them. Like many places take the shit bag politicians and extreme religious types out of the mix and people generally do get along fine.
-
Republican Guard we’re an Iraqi unit Les !!.
