    Covid-19

Christ how many times do you need an explanation of the alternative approaches to this ??? I’m sure it’s been put up numerous times, you try to keep putting myself and Andy in the same opinion group but I think you will find it’s a good few more on here whom disagree with Lockdown as the only tool in the box.

    Covid-19

Regarding the stats Andy put up earlier ??. Do you acknowledge those as correct.

    Covid-19

Long Covid? Maybe not fatal as such but certainly very debilitating and life changing. Not as debilitating and fatal as the lockdown will prove to be for many people with failed businesses, mental health issues and missed diagnosis of many other diseases. At least have the integrity to admit the statistics that Andy is quoting are correct.

The point is many can’t work and have received zero assistance. You can’t compare London to Norway nor London to rural Aberdeenshire yet I live under the same if not worse (SNP) restrictions

    Covid-19

Spoken like a true keyboard warrior. People have tried to give you there take and opinions on things but you disagree as is your right and, that’s fine. I think you will find in reality it’s the pro mask and lockdown advocates who tend to get worked up a bit more than the likes of myself whom disagree with lockdown or any of the others whom share that view including the likes of Rob D and Big J who are attempting to run businesses in the middle of all this.

I can live with that no probs at all, we are after all supposed to live in a country where differing opinions are the norm. Just out of curiosity and maybe to put some perspective on things how old are you, bearing in mind the comment earlier ref the vaccine ?

    Covid-19

Let me flip it around to yourself and ask when is enough enough for you in regards the restrictions we are living with and under. Bearing in mind the effect on children’s education and mental health, the long term consequences for hundreds of thousands suffering from other illnesses never mind the damage to the economy. My mother whom is in her 70s with dementia albeit early stages hit the nail on the head after nearly a year of shielding and not seeing hardly anyone including her grandchildren when she stated that this is certainly not how she wants to live the remainder of her life. Basically an existence consisting of confinement and loneliness.

I wholeheartedly disagree. You have asked that question ie tell me what you would have done dozens of times and have received detailed and generalised answers several times. Sympathy does not pay the bills. I’m not sure if you received any financial assistance from the various schemes but I can assure you I’ve had zero. Post counts 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️you don’t do too bad yourself.

You seem to have all answers admittedly with the benefit of hindsight. You whine on incessantly I’m afraid about decisions being made by everyone etc etc. Yes I hate lockdown it has destroyed mine and many self employed people’s livelihoods. As for what would I have done excuse me if I skip that clumsy bit of bait. Although many have suggested alternatives myself included even as recently as today I get the feeling it would be a pointless, excruciating endeavour.

Nothing was done or said to warrant an apology in reality. As I’ve said before don’t be such a bloody politically correct wet blanket.
  13. Yeah but what is defined as rich ?? Under SNP if you earn over 43350 you are as is often referenced by sturgeons cronies as the wealthy whom can afford to pay more. The 40/41% tax brackets are a total joke. I’ve had zero assistance off anyone since the beginning of this and have just paid 19-20 self employed tax bill, I’ve managed to get the payment on account dropped but still got hit big time especially seeing as I’m on 30-35% up y to now for 20-21 compared to 19-20.

More than 40% of Britons in poor health or struggling financially amid pandemic, says UK regulator APPLE.NEWS More than 40 percent of Britons are struggling financially or suffering poor health, a sharp... Many many things have changed in the last few months. There is thankfully a slight willingness on the part of the media and some politicians to question the magic bullet of full on lockdown including latest round of post Xmas restrictions and resultant damage etc. The awareness of the damage to children’s education and mental well-being is finally starting to be acknowledged as is the actual risk to the vast majority of individuals, end of the day if the posts are of no interest I skip by them 🤷‍♂️simples. I’m sure you have a few back issues of tri mix dreamer lying around to keep you occupied. 👎

    Covid-19

Most people who died with Covid in England last year were disabled APPLE.NEWS More than 30,000 disabled people had died with the disease by November 2020. Tragic for those individuals but it does bring into focus the flawed concept of locking a whole population and economy down when the vast majority will not be in the at risk categories. Targeted protection of vulnerable groups that was suggested from the beginning by many and also derided by some may well have turned out a far better long term option.

Talk about read into something to suit your own narrative. Nothing changes in regards the arrogance of some.

    Covid-19

Population density and sheer numbers alone are always gonna put England at a disadvantage statistics wise. My point is you have dripped on and criticised every single move that’s been made since this started. You have slated anyone whom disagreed with lockdown as a tool. The number of deaths are as people are starting to see attributable to so many other factors than just slating government and non mask wearers etc.
  20. Johnsond

    Covid-19

So it’s the 4 devolved powers that are responsible for the 100000+ deaths then !!. The reality is the amount of factors involved are so complex that the imposition of even tighter lockdowns and restrictions may turn out to be a bit part player when all this is analysed in detail which it will most certainly will be. The rabid criticism dished out by the full on lockdown zealots to anyone whom questioned any of the measures is just part of the current tone. There was an excellent balanced and informed article on channel 4 news where the actual effects of non compliance in some stubbornly high covid rate areas was dismissed as insignificant in comparison to other social aspects ie housing, working environment and population density etc etc.
  21. I’d back up what andy says. Functional and will do the job no probs, ok the welds are shit the paint is not the Best but it’s a decent B & S motor and once converted to single handed ops it’s a productive bit of kit.
