  1. It was a genuine reply 🤷‍♂️Whatever happened to a bit of dry piss taking humour 😞.
  2. Well first off yeah I live up here and I’m actually planning on doing some milling down at another guy on here’s place when us working class types can align our schedules. I’m sure if you ask Trigger Andy he’d be ok with you popping by on the way past to Stonehaven. Mind you it would be tea out of a dirty mug and very uncouth conversation normally of a right of centre nature, but an hour or so with the underlings im sure will be tolerable to your lordship.
  3. ?? Bit more detail as to the reason you wanting to know where I work may elicit an answer or alternatively feel free to use the PM facility.
  4. You are like clockwork Mull, another late night alcohol inspired belter, I’ll say one thing and that is your consistent either that or too shy to post sober. Im pleased you had a laugh bud, mind you what’s amusing when your pissed probably isn’t that funny at all the morning after. Talking about great guys etc, I’m over in Oban and Lochmaddy in next few months doing some work for CalMac, if your near any of the ferry terminals and dive ops are being carried out you should pop over for a coffee eh👍always good to meet up face to face with a forum user, rather than this billy big bollocks midnight keyboard shite.
  5. I think you may be guilty of holding the words you write in posts in too high a regard, Not interested in winning any arguments or in reality give a shit about what you earn, I never commented on your boasting first time round or indeed was upset by it, as like I say you or your earnings mean absolutely nothing to me. As for my mentioning what I do that’s common knowledge to those whom know me on here 🤷‍♂️. I could easily talk about day rates but never have in the years I’ve been posting, I was always taught growing up not to be boastful or brag etc but 🤷‍♂️ we are all different. The point was show a bit of humility, not everyone is lucky enough to be in a position to welcome the interest rate hikes as you evidently do. Your “ I’ll let you have the last word statement” is utterly childish behaviour which seems to not fit in at all well with your self proclaimed extremely rare set of skills, ill take it that along with boastfulness is another part of your character make up.
  6. One in five homeowners face being locked out of cheaper mortgage rates APPLE.NEWS If the Bank Rate hits 4.5pc as expected, bills will jump by 50pc It was in the context of people making light of the situation of those families who find themselves in the situation described within this article and many like it. Try and read it before you hit the bottle again, although admittedly it’s a weekend so I don’t hold out much hope of that.
  7. Nothing majorly glamorous and weather was crap at times but a decent day milling some Oak and resawing some bloody hard free hand cut beams to client spec. Few decent chunks of steel ( including a cracking old square nail) unfortunately but a good try out for a batch of woodmizer 4/32 blades, impressed so far, very consistent and cleaned out some 1100mm wide slabbing cuts very well. Had to revert to tipped x cuts to chew through the steel on a few cuts 🤷‍♂️. Cheers for the job Andy 👍
  8. Sadly you are right, there’s a lot wrong out there at the moment for sure, and the tinkering of successive governments regardless of which party is getting us nowhere. I always remember my late grandmother’s favourite saying “ contentment is better than hold” and she had very little in reality. The interest rate hikes as i alluded to earlier will hurt a lot more than they help.
  9. Indeed it is 😂😂 You might be right about only working an hour what with the new interest rates etc
  10. Lol razor sharp and as always on a fri night an insightful and well thought out post 🤔” ok maybe not eh” you on the sauce again it would seem Mull. So in your eyes being a prick is giving a **************** about those whom might be struggling as opposed to those whom are boasting about their day rates and welcoming interest rate hikes to presumably boost their savings. There’s me thinking you were an SNP socialist type too 🙄.
  11. You can’t !! Yes I absolutely did, the reply was more in the context of the previous few posts on this topic. Your previous posts about your skill set and earnings I didn’t comment on or even give it much thought but to emphasise what you earn and then at another juncture lecture those less fortunate 🤷‍♂️Well I’ll leave you to fill the gaps in.
  12. That’s exactly how I felt throughout the past couple of years of total shite. It seems the I’m alright Jack or holier than thou attitude is alive and well, whilst I agree the interest rates have been probably unsustainably low for too long now I get no kicks out of lecturing people who might not be as fortunate as others. There’s a lot of people who will undoubtedly end up in mortgage arrears or worse in part due to the crazy prices that you see in the housing market. You may judging by a previous post where you alluded to your amazing day rate be in a position to benefit from the higher rates we are seeing, me personally I’d rather give a shit about the younger families out there who will be bricking it at the seemingly never ending hikes. You are right though it’s a bullshit game played by people way way up the chain. As for day rates I never brag or would certainly never quote specific numbers in a Harry Enfield loadsamoney gobshite manner but feel free to look up the 2022 ODIA offshore agreement and you will see what the North Sea oil and gas game pays Divers/Supvs
  13. Interest rates surge to 2.25% hitting 14-year high - what it means for your cash APPLE.NEWS The Bank of England has today confirmed it is hiking interest rates from 1.75% to 2.25% in what is... Coming off a 5 year fixed rate deal mortgage in jan next year so been shopping around today, so far it looks like im gonna be about £140 a month worse off. I guess those further up the money chain who were unhappy with the way of things pre covid are now a lot more contented with how things are.
  14. Deaths due to irregular heartbeat help drive rise in excess mortality APPLE.NEWS Other leading causes include ischaemic heart diseases and diabetes. There are a few outlets popping this one out today, no one is offering any reasons why it would seem 🤔. More people have been dying this year due to irregular heartbeat, official figures suggest NEWS.SKY.COM Excess deaths, or extra deaths, are the number of deaths that are above the long-term...
  15. Keep it simple and cheap, look at what the schools are using ie air cooled basic tools. End of the day I’m pretty sure the 125 will be outgrown in no time so the less depreciation the better, and in reality a few hopefully minor drops are to be expected, last thing you want is ludicrous repair bills for basically cosmetic panels etc.
  16. Interesting article in the telegraph albeit rather depressing when you see the succession of short term decisions by one government after another.
  17. Hi All As above, has anyone ever ran RTF remover as a blade cleaner whilst milling. Mill is running 6 groove v belts on band wheels and to be honest I’m seriously considering/trying wicking diesel onto the blades and taking the reduction in wheel belts lifespan on the chin, but still in the meantime happy to try other options. Any thoughts either positive or negative ??. Cheers
  18. Well Mull I’d say they ain’t that stupid in reality eh, they spoon fed the masses a crock of shit for two years which the vast majority gobbled up willingly and managed to transfer a monumental amount of wealth often to their own advantage. Not just here but worldwide as can be seen with VDL in the EU.
  19. Or worse still an utterly incompetent SNP administration propped up with a couple of bought and paid for Green MSPs. Yet as you say people keep voting for more of the same.
  20. Kwasi Kwarteng considers scrapping bankers’ bonus cap to boost City APPLE.NEWS The new chancellor believes removing a cap on bankers' bonuses could boost growth in... Another nail in the conservative coffin it would seem. You have to wonder how anyone thinks this is gonna go down well.
  21. Speaking to one of the DP officers off my regular boat whom is in defence forces with his two sons last night, he was explaining they have moved front line 70km back in places and recovered 2000 square kilometres of territory. Said progress was fast as in his words “ Russian troops were running and not looking back”. I’ve known this guy and the other Ukrainian officers onboard for between 10- 12 years now and you can guarantee there will be zero compromise or slacking until they achieve their goals. They have an ultra strong patriotic/nationalistic outlook and a hatred for Russia that is literally in their blood from birth,

Absolutely agree, some of the comments are in very very poor taste.
