  1. Try a company called Spigen, they do some solid cases. Not sure if any are waterproof though.
  2. Yeah I bought it. The guy did say he had some stihl and husqvarna's for sale so he may have had some more ECHO saws too.
  3. Nicely shot video, like already mentioned, taken atsome good angles too.
  4. I can, not from cold but have done quite a few times when it's already been used

    Monkey Puzzle

Haha thanks for the replies again! Thought the spikey-ness and sap might have been an issue!
  6. Great idea that moose! Just checked on ebay and there is a lot of firewood for sale!
  7. Sorry if this is another repeatative question that always gets asked but was just wondering how you guys sell firewood on? Let me explain.... We have been cutting a lot of stuff down at work recently and getting some decent amount of wood from it. Will also (hopefully) get more from private jobs. So how would I go about selling it as firewood? Are there companies that will buy it or do I just find somebody that has use for it and flog it them? I don't have the space to keep it so would just be looking for a quick sale, Cheers and thank you if this is a dumb question!
  8. Should imagine these are a ball ache to cut? Drove past one yesterday and got me wondering if anybody has any experience with this type of tree?
  9. As many visual deterents as possible. Steering lock, pedal lock, wheel clamps, CCTV cameras, installing a tracker makes it easier to find if it does unfortunately get pinched. Putting the Hi-Lo box in neutral will also confuse the opportunistic theif. If somebody really wants it though they will have it, either by towing it or just lifting it away with a HIAB.

  11. Thanks for all the replies again really appreciate it!! The reason I asked about the different chain oils is because I wasn't sure if the oil already in the saw would be same as the oil we have at work. I will check when I'm back at work what brand and viscosity the oil is but The chain oil we use at work has been in our stihl saws since we have had them and they have had no problems. As for the fuel mix we have some stihl branded 2-stroke oil at work and the petrol comes from the pumps so should be fresh enough.
  12. Land rovers are a very popular choice for thief's especially Defenders!
  13. Thanks, so I either need to keep running with same oil that's in or run it dry before using any different oil brand?
  14. However, I have a question regarding chain oil. Does it matter what brand of oil I use? Manual says.... Fuel is a mixture of regular grade petrol and an air-cooled 2-stroke engine oil of reputable brand name. Minimum 89 Octane unleaded petrol is recommended. Do not use fuel containing methyl alcohol or more than 10 % of ethyl alcohol. ΠRecommended mixture ratio; 50 : 1 (2 %) for ISO-L-EGD Standard (ISO/CD 13738), JASO FC, FD grade and ECHO Premium 50 : 1 oil or 25 : 1 (4 %) for JASO FB grade oil. - Do not mix directly in engine fuel tank. - Avoid spilling petrol or oil. Spilled fuel should always be wiped up. - Handle petrol with care, it is highly inflammable. - Always store fuel in approved container. Chain lubricant Proper lubrication of the chain while in operation reduces the friction between the chain and the guide bar to a minimum and assures a longer life time. Use only special chain oil of high quality for this purpose. Do not use any waste or reclaimed oil to avoid various problems with the oil pump. In case of emergency, it is allowed to use motor oil for a short time. SAE 30...in summer SAE 10...in winter or for the cutting of wood with a high resin content. All simple and obvious stuff but can I mix different brands of chain oil in same tank?
  15. Or8 people, picked the saw up earlier and it does have a 15" bar. It is a very nice and clean saw, very sharp too. Started and ran fine and also got to test it out too! Very happy with it initially just can't wait to use it now, will hopefully get a chance at work tomorrow!

    Xmas TV ads

True, it ruins the spirit of Christmas for me when decorations are up, adverts are on, xmas songs on radio are on in late October/November. The whole xmas thing should start at the beginning of December when you open the advent calenders
  17. Beautiful looking architecture but won't the trees just keep growing which in time will damage the buildings?
  18. Exactly, so even better for me Hope it does turn out to be a good saw and I don't turn up and it's actually falling apart!
  19. Thought it might be but couldn't work out for sure. It doesn't really matter stihlmadasever, but like couldyajust says they are good quality bars so worth keeping hold of especially if I do get a larger saw in future.
  20. I'd love a pink saw haha! Thanks for the advice, will definitely be putting a smaller bar onto it but can't work out weather it is an ECHO bar or not.... https://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/chainsaw-echo-cs-420es-professional-chainsaw/1133299294
  21. Cheers TGB, the model I was looking at did have the quick chain tensioning feature. And with the ECHO I would probably change the bar to a smaller size. No I don't have a compression gague, in fact I have no chainsaw tools or spare parts at present. Can get 2-stroke oil and chain oil from work but will definitely be getting my own supplies and spare bars, chains etc once I have said saw. Its certainly between the ECHO and Husky now, like the extra power of the ECHO but like the fact that the Husky will be brand new. Also get a free starter kit with the husky. Keep helping me!!
  22. The time has come to actually choose what saw I'm having. The 3 options are now.... 1) ECHO CS 420-ES, 18" bar, second hand 2) Stihl ms 181C-BE, 14 or 16" bar, brand new 3) Husqvarna 236, 14" bar, brand new If it was your choice which would you go for? I'm swaying more towards the ECHO then the other two. I do have experience with both stihl and Husky saws but the stihl is the least powerful of the 3, and im not really impressed with the stihls we have at work (ms 211 iirc) Again the husky isn't as powerful as the ECHO but I actually did my chainsaw course with husky saws so know more mechanical wise about these then the others! Though I would image most saws are similar with the way they are set out and need maintaining.
  23. I won't be using it as much as we do our regular car anyway. Once our lass passes I will only need the Landy for picking young 'un from nursery and getting to football and back and that's it! Oo and green lane days of course Either walk or bike to work and will use focus for shopping visiting in-laws etc. etc.
  24. Not quite sure yet mate, it's currently off road so only had it on a few laps around estate to keep everything moving. The guy who I bought it off said he used to get 17 mile to gallon from it.
  25. Just though I'd show off my Landrover in here. A 3.9 v8i petrol Discovery. Currently SORN until after x-mas when the misses will take the car and I will get this baby running
