    Old husky

Hi , I got given this husky at the weekend , it's a 480 CD, I'm presuming this is an 80 cc saw ? It runs and starts well , does anyone know the rough age of this saw ?
  4. Would have been decent I reckon , bottom 20 ft was rotten and hollow , plus I was sick of the sight of it by the time we finished, so on a trailer and as far away from me as possible ?
  5. Big nobbly beech from gosforth church a while back , just got the photos

    Apple trees

Hi all , over the years I've only ever pruned Apple trees sympatheticly, recently I've been asked to reduce a whole orchard of 20 ft trees by approx 50 % this coming autumn , I'm presuming they'll come back fine ? Any thoughts ? This is a customer request by the way , many of the trees are intertwined and competing for light and have never been touched , also removing the odd one is not an option, thanks
  7. Hi Gary, sorry meant to reply earlier , yes I'll let you know when we make a start and timber quality and price etc , we are in west cumbria near ravenglass
  8. I've cancelled everything, for next three weeks probably more , it's the fear of passing anything on to the vulnerable of course , might paint the house!
  9. Great thanks for that , I'll get a rough idea from that , the owners have proposed that we can have the timber in exchange for the work , so should be viable
  10. Thanks for that, probably just crack on in late summer and see what's what, maybe just get a tractor trailer on day rate
  11. Hi , im currently looking at a small timber job , it's been estimated at 180m3 , looking for a rough estimation in tonnage, it's a mixture of larch Scots pine Sitka, birch and sycamore , so I can price forwarding etc , thanks

    Echo 330 evl

I'm looking for part for a friends saw , it's the cpu, part number is 156-601-158-30 , saw probably about 30 years old ? If anybody has one or knows where to get one ? Thanks
  13. Storm damage from last week, leylandii willow and a Corsican pine within striking distance of the house so took 15 ft or so off the top
  14. Often works ok, this one was too far gone , it was mush at the bottom ! Not sure how it was still standing !
  15. Pretty shaky at full extend , but not scary at all there is obviously a good few tonnes for ballast! Would great to own one but round here 80% of our trees are in a garden down a slope round a corner over a greenhouse with enough overhead wires to choke a donkey!
  16. That was just a branch an all ! Ha
  17. Yeah was a nice machine, once we worked out how to start it !
  18. Cheers piece of cake with a platform, hardest bit is staying warm !
  19. Nice big vertical crack in the stem ,hanging over the road, needed a 20m machine to get it done
  20. Best one so far , I'll go with that !

    day rates

You are charging far too little, dont undervalue your experience and knowhow after 19years in the game, think of the coming years when you won't be as fit or keen to go out in the pissing rain, with tennis elbow and sore knees !
