The marlow rope is pretty pants imo,ive had the marlow gecko which is almost the same.Its a pretty decent starter kit but i wonder if you could get a similar kit cheaper and slightly better just by buying seperatly and shopping around.If you do go for this kit id get a ring or a swivel on the bridge of that petzl harness

Just reading up on some of his charity work,he volunteered at a homeless shelter every month,donated regularly to various child charities,helped a strangers by paying for hiv treatment,payin for another strangers fertility treatment and paying off the debt of another. Just some examples of his fantastic charity work

Ive got treehog spikes,dont think they do velcro straps for them though. Ive never seen them on any of the arb retail sites. Perhaps the gecko or bashlins spares would fit...??

I like the dmm ultra o's on my zigzag and ive got a revolver.Ive never had problems with my dmm biners,just a blow out with an airline. Still struggling to think of a good scenario for those durolock biners...chockering around a stem maybe good or at tie in point for srt.

Nope,the biner should always snap back to the locked position whether its being manipulated or not.

Treequip is bang on-if your serious about climbing,my advice is to climb the scariest,slipperiest piece of **** tree you can find.It will build confidence. Of course you could go low and slow,which is what i did then i climbed in the real world and it scared the **** out of me,massive common lime on a pissin wet day...reality check.

Tried em,dont rate em-although i didnt have any issues with the straps.Cant beat bashlins imo Hear lots of good things about geckos too

Have you checked the exhaust? If its jammed up with crud it can prevent running properly at full revs

Why would i expect anyone to do the same,everyone has an opinion and you've voiced yours.I do appreciate your input,even though i dont necessaily agree.I dont think there is a right or wrong answer here just thoughts,musings and opinions

Of course its related to the use of any cutting implement or why bother with the 2nd bridge at all,the point i was making is it was implied that my chainsaw technic must be flawed if i was concidering an added safety measure which just is not the case. I an by no means perfect and admit i still have lots to learn but to imply the 2nd bridge is becaise i am weilding a saw in a dangerous manner is not true.

I really dont think any experienced climber is going to start wielding a chainsaw wrecklessly because they have a 2nd bridge attached to theyre harness. You seem to be failing to grasp that this addition to the harness is in no way a relation to chainsaw use.Its simpley an added safery feature. We use triple lock and now quad lock biners yet ive never had an open gate incident,does that mean triple locks are unmerited...

Although i understand the logic of people assuming im thinking of adding a second bridge due to poor work positioning can i just add ive been climbing almost 6 years and im more than a decent climber.I can acheive good work positions and ive NEVER had any incidents involving the saw coming near my bridge/main line or lanyard. This is purley a safety feature i wad concidering and has nothing to do with my abilities as a climber

Just as a side note sip do decent trousers...in red..look like pfanners but not as pricey.From what ive been told sips are decent trousers too Just puttin it out there

I was at a christmas fair today at the Cameron House Hotel at loch lomond side.It seems to be the kind of thing you do with your mrs...i paid 5 quid for two jars of jam...homemade so that justifies it.Seen a guy flying a barn owl,that was good.

It was actually a loler inspector who first put it too me about the TM bridge being fragile when it came cutting implements grazing it. He did comment he had seen some back up bridges on other TM harnesses,further to that ive seen a couple of climbers on facebook/instagram etc with what looked like back up bridges however seeing those pictures posted in this thread with harnesses with in built double bridges perhaps it was those ive seen.
