  1. Remember that the fence might not necessarily be the actual boundary. Your deeds and the opinion of a surveyor would be needed to confirm that.
  2. Try the Local Government Act and the Occupiers Liability Act for the legislative detail. There are several council publications online that summarise it.
  3. Good decision - good luck with it 👍
  4. Contact your local council (or have several residents do it). They do have powers to act in these circumstances.
  5. The general idea is literally given in his first paragraph. Tree falls from property of unknown ownership onto adjacent private land and causes damage.
  6. I hear Ukraine could use some more troops
  7. Definitely finish school. If you've got a mechanical bent, steer towards that. Get as much education for free while you can, just tailor it to your needs. Plenty of time to fix up saws on the side.
  8. https://www.rhs.org.uk/fruit/apples/training-espalier RHS has some good pruning and training advice generally. I've got their pruning and training book and I usually dip into it to remind my old brain what I'm supposed to be doing. I'd keep the tree like has been said and see what it doe this year. If it not already supported then it probably will need some when the heavy fruit is on.
  9. They do a corded saw but it's designed to run on their F2 mills - it's not a standalone saw in its own right.
  10. Sorry yeah for the 7 months old stuff - should have been clearer. I meant he still has time for the new stuff. The older stuff he shouldn't use till it's been examined.
  11. Ok so you've a bit of time then. Sorry - can't help with your location though but I'm sure someone on here will know a loler dude near you
  12. Fair point. Not a route I have gone or would do down but understood that some might not have the choice if they want the finance.
  13. Sorry yes I was just saying that what you intended seems the best idea. Perhaps nip the cracked ends off and seal the end grain of those you want to use?
  14. A Google search tells me it is a bit unstable when drying but becomes more stable when it is dry - perhaps if you have the patience leaving it in the round might yield something useful?
  15. Perhaps some nice cutting boards if it's that thick? Would also make great charcoal - nice and dense. Also brilliant firewood for the same reason.
  16. Yes @Mark Bolam - probably should have been clearer. Basically being a ltd company means the director(s) can't have their personal assets targeted should things go tits up. Actually - in theory I think we could be pursued but it would have to be a case of criminal neglicence or money laundering etc. Not enough cash in tree work for me to be laundering though...
  17. If it's brand new just purchased kit then there's no need yet. Just note the date into service and work off those timelines....
  18. There are benefits and drawbacks either way re self-employed v ltd company. Speak to a good accountant about it - ask about locally for someone who people find knows their stuff. I'm a ltd company and it suits me better - granted the accountancy fees are a bit higher but that's about it. I also like having the liability element separated out between the company and me - this isn't the case with self-employed.
  19. I suppose you have to factor temperature? Assume it works the same with petrol but I know you get slightly more diesel in the tank when the temps are low. If my warning light is on when it's cold quite often it will go off as the day warms up. I'm talking about variation in volume rather than evaporation specifically I guess.
  20. As above - I started it but as I've never heard of a 'green sector' before (genuinely I'm not being facetious) so didn't feel there was any point going any further as the responses would have been meaningless. Sorry.
  21. As above. Birch not pine. Don't prune it, just leave it. Mulch around the base to encourage fine root growth and perhaps water in the summer if really dry. If it starts to die back then you can look to remove but give it a chance first. Can't see the house but I can't imagine it's really too close.
  22. They're all pretty useless. You'll sweat so much even with 'decent' ones. Cheaper to just get wet on the legs and change later on. Keep your feet and core warm.
