When a DPF does a regeneration cycle does it actually burn up the tiny particles or just re emit them? I originally thought the idea of a DPF was to store the particles until it could burn them off outside of urban areas, presumably detected by the fact the vehicle is at a greater speed. I have a 2023 Hilux and so far it has told me it is doing a DPF regeneration three times, all of these while i was in the town in 30 limit areas. Sorry for a bit of a derail.

Four weeks post op tomorrow. Starting work today, being sensible and gentle with it. Tomorrow doing a hedge reduction which will involve loppers and MS220 battery saw (less vibes). This is in line with what the surgeon said would be sensible. I won't climb for another couple of weeks yet. Photo was taken this morning.

Reminds me of similar concept: I learnt to drive in an A35 van on the farm over the road when I was 12/13, spent all my spare time working there. Progressed to ploughing, baling, grain carting etc as any lad working on a farm did/does. Had some driving lessons to get ready for driving test when 17. My instructor had an escort Mk2 and could not turn it round on the tarmac square in front of our garage. This area was large enough for my parents to park their caravan on and my dad to turn round his Peugot 504 estate (long car) when caravan in place. Caravan was not in place and instructor could not turn his Escort round, so I had to do it for him. Of course he did have his IAM (institute of advance motorists) badge proudly displayed on the car!

Yes, I only use it to spray on the hedgecutter blades when on site, when really needed ££. Meths otherwise. Brake cleaner excellent but evaporates too quickly so have to use too much ££

Also might vary a bit from one area/network to another. In my patch Western Power Distribution (now renamed National Grid) have always been a dream to work with. I do not have utility certificates as I only do domestic arb. By contrast I looked at a job 25-30 miles away in an are covered by Scottish Power - complete PITA they were.

I have the exact same machine. Can't fault it for value and ability. Not found anything it won't split yet, and done some big bits. I have towed it on the road to 1O miles away, but if I was to do it again/go further I would put it on a trailer. I have found Rock Machinery to be good to deal with.

I think that sums up the likely situation and outcome. As the pictures show, it is amazing how the body can heal. If the scar tissue is stiff/thick you could try regular moisturiser, worked in thoroughly. That's what I was told to do with my scar in my palm from surgery. I use something called "CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream".

Now three weeks post op and I am really please with progress. Saw physio for review this am who was equally happy with it. Having to firmly massage moisturiser into the scar, as a routine procedure. This afternoon I was fine using a drill and fitting storage lockers to a trailer. As of next week I shall be working again, but won't use big saws (MS462 and bigger) until 6 weeks post op, not will I climb until then. I will try to use our electric saws as much as possible as these don't vibrate as much, although the little Echo top handle is really smooth on the hands. You can see how straight the previously bent finger is. Pictures were taken today.

Morning all, Physio review this morning for hand. Should be ready to start light work now, but van waiting for parts and snow likely Thursday. No worries, I can fit the storage lockers to the new tilt bed trailer, under cover.

Yes I use a tyre to store my tirfor cable in. I also have two other tyres with steel extension cables with eyes at both ends. Having taken the tirfor to a job with the wrong tyre/cable I learnt to check carefully when loading up for the job!

Agreed. One of the guys who works with me likes his Treehog harness. Always said he wasn't wired right!!
