  1. Ireland will follow the UK on masks in shops from Monday. We have Texans flying in now, Texans, as you may have heard, are more dangerous than tourists from other states and countries... Pub opening pushed back three weeks. The mask mandate is window dressing to cover political embarrassment. They have to keep spinning the narrative that we are all in grave danger, to retrospectively justify their initial overreaction and economically devastating policies.
  2. Yup - pivot point for hauling in reverse. I haven't gotten around to attaching a tow ball yet, but I would say front of the load bed would be the place.
  3. They rot faster that way, I'm told..
  4. Dig the hole a bit deeper and bury the stump of course. Upside down.
  5. That would be awesome! Please take some good footage of the winch close ups etc.
  6. That would be awesome! Please take some good footage of the winch close ups etc.
  7. You'll need a 10 tonne round sling or webbing sling on your anchor tree. And a 10 tonne rated chain on the stump.
  8. That's the one. Or maybe sanding the capstan drum to give it some more friction? Or glue something hard waring yet flexible to it, can't think what.
  9. There's a spray-on product for slipping v- belts that increases grip. Maybe try that on the rope?
  10. It's also shown the viability of anarchy - unfortunately - at least in the short term. In America mainly. The police can't stand up to large coordinated mobs. Government unwilling to crack down. Saw it with the Travellers here in Ireland, no funerals allowed, but when 200 Travellers showed up in Cork for a funeral - and the state knew they were coming - they provided a police escort. Rolled out the red carpet in contravention of their own laws. Saw it the the "protests" across the water and this side. Police were bullies, hassled people for mountain hiking but backed right the **************** down when faced with large groups. Normal people need to start using this tactic. Just show up to do whatever, in a thousand strong group. Who's going to stop you?
  11. Thailand __say__ they have virtually eliminated it. Thailand is a monarchy where disrespecting the king gets you thrown in jail. Think about it... Common sense....? When people figured out what the probability of death was for healthy people they did use their common sense, and circumvented the draconian rules as much as possible.
  12. Yup. Broke the cardinal rule there matey. Reputation, and all that.
  13. 12 meter below ground sounds very deep. Are you sure you didn't mean to write 12 foot? What's on top of the sewer? Compacted clay, gravel? Cities are riddled with old sewers and 30 tonne lorries drive around on top of them all day long.
  14. "Your new tattoo of Greta Thunberg has turned septic..." Too good!
  15. Tried it, it's true! My location is always turned off, unless I'm using Google maps as a satnav, so the tracking was "off" by default.
  16. How do propose we take back our flag? (We as in "you guys" - I'm Irish, but you get the idea)
  17. Maybe the far right thugs were planted by the far left? You know, to cause trouble and make the right look bad...I mean, that's what the left accuse the right of when they riot, isn't it?
  18. Probably just need oiling. https://youtu.be/MeFz_gFKmg4
  19. Well, a lot of people seem to be well bored of it this last week. Riots, arson... Big "solidarity" protests in London today. Is it genuine outrage at the police killing of a man in another country (like that doesn't happen 10 times day, somewhere in the world) or is it an excuse to defy the lockdown? I was certain this imposition on our civil rights would end in mass defiance.
  20. I've a green Bosch one, very horrible to use, vibrates the hell out of the hands so don't use it much. But when it's needed, and nothing else will do the job, boy is it great.
  21. I'm an anti-vaxxer.
  22. Cut the overhanging stem at waste hight then treat the wound with urea or something and cap with aluminium sheet. Wind a strap around it above the cut to prevent barberchair.
  23. What's this ash worth?
