  1. [ame] [/ame] Maybe so, maybe no. I do think they struggle to think of new stuff.
  2. Unless I'm working directly in front of a vulnerable target, I never use one.
  3. I had a similar situation with a Land Rover. I was totally hoodwinked by the company owner. Nothing I could do. I have worked for a couple of major franchises (Ford and Vauxhall as was) and they take this sort of thing very seriously. If you can, when all this is over (and it will be over one day) use a large franchise, its money well spent.
  4. A sorry tale indeed, very bad luck. It's not a franchise of a major manufacturer I'm guessing. Easy to be wise after the event I suppose. Plough on with the legal route, with a bit of luck he might cut his losses and pay up. You must be guttted.
  5. Brickworks in West Sussex. Hard, noisy, repetitive, dusty, I lasted two days. Every minute was like an hour, every hour like a day..... There were Poles and Italians who had been there for decades.
  6. I know, don't worry about it, occasionally everyone just gets a bit silly, usually at the weekend:001_smile:
  7. The wife bought me new socks for work yesterday, I'm breaking them in today.
  8. Oh yeah, I remember reading about it now, awful awful stuff.
  9. "Horrible mauling" What's that about?
  10. Ironic really, two guys in shows about dangerous jobs die not doing their jobs.
  11. Talk is cheap, woulda, coulda, shoulda. Show us the beans!
  12. I used a Terrano for a similar job when I started out, it fell apart like a clowns car after a year, not up to towing and a lot of off road stuff. I suspect that an old Frontera would be just as robust, but at £400 who cares!
  13. They're cheap and usable, I started in one and loved it for a bit, then I got another sort (weaver) I went back to a willans after a few years on the weaver and it was horrible! Gave it away fairly quickly and bought another weaver. It'll do the job.
  14. Therein lies the rub for me. We're not talking about 15 year old boys at school, it's about grown men at work. Everyone should have the right to do their job without having to be part of the gang or join in with the laughs.
  15. I don't really understand the point your making Guy. Surely the rate of regrowth is, amongst other things, species dependent..
  16. You have three belts turning the flywheel. They should be nice and tight. Adjusting them is child's play.
  17. No, just go to "forum" in the yellow box at the top, you'll find it there.
  18. "Getting old sucks" Not when you consider the alternative.
  19. Nice pics Eddy. There is a horse logging sub forum here Horse Logging - Arbtalk.co.uk | Discussion Forum for Arborists Don't know if you knew.
  20. I guess its is we're kind of proud to still be in the game, on the tools, at the coal face so to speak.
  21. Spose. for the sake of £220. I'd get the new one.
  22. How can you demo a saw for 20 hours? Seriously.
  23. I hate practical jokes in the workplace, dangerous and stupid, tell them to grow up and get to work. I am 53 in a month btw.
