  1. I suspect he just found the right button.
  2. Best thread ever!
  3. Had/have a terrible cold, pissing down, so no work. Gave the cold to the wife, who now has a legitimate reason to openly despise me. Bit bored, might start a podcast, every other wanker does.
  4. Wordle 1,195 4/6 ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜🟨 🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  5. I already did that one. Good-fellers?
  6. Ha, no. Was a pretty big smack. Sort of incident where you’re a bit scared to take your boot off to see the damage.
  7. You want cut and crush protection. This is my foot after a blow from a branch with new chunky proper chainsaw boots. Hurt for a bit, but finished the tree and didn’t lose a days work. I think it might have been different with ordinary dealer boots or whatever.
  8. Rotatech or global recycling.
  9. Iirc, there’s a single hydraulic ram, operating the sideways movement, is that right?
  10. On my rake the tines are the other way round, which tbh, works better.
  11. Wordle 1,193 4/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟩⬜⬜⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

  13. Very good, hadn’t been for 10 or so years. Couldn’t meet up with a few on here due to phone signal issues as discussed. Managed to see my nephew and Big Tree Don, talked to some machinery boys. More of a social thing for me than a real business trip.
  14. Thanks, The drive is ok, till it gets dark. The twilight is the worst on my old eyes, once it’s properly night it’s easier for me to see. Looking forward to getting back, the dog has missed me!
  15. Heading home to France after the apf and seeing some mates. 4 hr crossing from Newhaven, followed by a 6 hr drive.
  16. Hi, they are Rowan trees. The one that’s browning off is obviously not as good as the one with berries. in preparation for next spring you could try mulching the base. Was there a difference in soil texture between the two planting positions? Otherwise, wait and see, it might be ok.
  17. Wordle 1,188 3/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 2 threes on the bounce!
  18. Dunno, didn’t know there were so many heavy sweaters out there. My climate here in SW France is much hotter than yours in Scotchland. I am mostly arb as opposed to forestry though, so spend most of the day shagging housewives in air conditioned comfort for a grand a day, which helps of course.
  19. All round protection trousers are torture. Just get front protection. Like wearing shorts!
  20. Interesting, do you wear all round protection on your chainsaw trousers?
  21. You’ll sweat less when you get more used to the work! What helmet are you using?
  22. Tub thumping Steve (hopefully) Sending a signal to Russia that Western/central Europe is prepared (or preparing) for the scenario. Bearing in mind the difficulties the Russians are having subduing Ukraine, it’s unlikely they’d move any further west at the moment. Follow me for more geopolitical predictions!
  23. Lovely day ahead (hopefully) Finishing off a 4 day job we had to pull off due to weather last week. Get the loader and chipper back home. Clean out the pick-up ready for Thursday’s drive to Blighty for the APF. Will also have a night in the pub with some old mates. Happy days!
