  1. Been a good week, dry and clear, made a few quid and nothing broke (man or machine) so much success! Wife is back in the UK visiting her parents, so me and Igor in conversation all evening, bit one sided tbh.
  2. I think that last one is Ai. The dog just seems to walk through the tree.
  3. Maybe some way of attracting more women (wives and girlfriends)
  4. 5.38 French time. I am an early bird anyway, no big deal.
  5. Mornin’ Doug Wordle 1,581 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ 🟨🟨⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  6. Vertical anvil in its entirety went through my ForstST8, made a funny noise for a bit then clang! and out it came. I think there’s space under the rotor disc, between it and the chamber for it to pass underneath. I would replace both anvils, rotor bearings, and check rotor fans for damage. I think they replaced the old ally fans made of cheese for better ones at some point, may be worth checking with your dealer.
  7. Wordle 1,580 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  8. ‘Can you cut them back to make a nice hedge?’
  9. Mornin’ Stubs et al. Lime repollard an hour and a quarter away, 3rd time I’ve done it in the 20 years I’ve been here (ex-pat client from the old days) will certainly be the last time I do it. Kind of a farewell tour!
  10. Wordle 1,579 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟨⬜⬜⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  11. Agreed, probably leylands.
  12. Wordle 1,578 3/6 ⬜🟨⬜🟨⬜ 🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  13. Yeah, flailing. so far so good.
  14. Igor got me up again at 5.30. Flailing with the Avant today, should be a breeze, just got to look out for unexpected holes!

  16. I’m not ignoring him.
  17. But who is using these old saws? 99.9% is in landfill or melted down. No one serious is the answer. It is interesting to keep a few going, but that’s all it is.
  18. So are you reducing it?
  19. Apropos of nothing. Here is a photo from 10 years ago of my Stihl toppers starting with an 020 from 95/6 going through a few 200s then a couple of 201s Battery huskies and the little echo have largely replaced them.
  20. I was back in the uk recently and took a walk around the woods where I used to wander with my jack russell Pirate 50 years ago. Mostly overstood hornbeam coppice in steep ghylls with streams at the bottom, with oak and ash in between. I was shocked at the dead ash mostly standing but a lot collapsed on the ground exposing the forest floor to light it hadn’t received for a long time.

  22. It’s the beginning of the end Doug.
