  1. It’s sad, Charles made a great speech, but was there any need to call the football off this weekend? She loved a Saturday afternoon in front of of Sky Sports Saturday with Jeff Stelling! Too far imo.
  2. That’s fair comment.
  3. I know this thread will end up in a slanging match. But I don’t think Retired Climber’s comment should really be the starting pistol. I’m sure someone will say something genuinely inflammatory soon enough.
  4. I looked into it, apathy got the better of me, so I didn’t bother.
  5. The machine isn’t very good at it if I’m honest, gets tangled up too easily which means getting out and untangling it (see photo) Compared to a proper PTO tractor outfit it’s piss poor. Still, better then strimming with a blade!
  6. Först seem to have turned the corner a bit reliability wise. I was sorry to read about the thefts on FB as well. Hope you can keep moving forward.
  7. Flailing brambles, not something I would do commercially, just did it to secure a bigger tree job on the site.
  8. I saw a picture of her this morning on the telly, thought she looked very thin.
  9. You could be right. I thought it might be something rare, never mind.. Thanks.
  10. I could probably google around, but I know you guys like a challenge. Found at ground level in an old wound on an oak. Extraordinary red colour.
  11. Pretty sure it should be ‘who in their right mind’ I’m not a grammar Nazi but you keep writing whom and it grates. All you’re doing is repeating yourself, I’m countering your point, saying lots of people (not you thankfully) want to be Prime Minister. I don’t recall, Maggie, Blair, Brown, Cameron or May being subjected to many personal or family attacks making their job unbearable. You are butt-hurt because your boy got kicked out on his rear, deservedly so, by his own party. Now you’re blaming the press, and in a way you’re right. Like Tommy Docherty said ‘The press got me the sack from Manchester United, they kept printing the results’
  12. Lots of people. Loads of people, do you want a list?
  13. The one I mentioned in the post. Maybe read it first.
  14. Really? Maybe don’t be a lying hypocrite, conduct yourself with a modicum of decency and you’ll be ok, too much to ask for Boris it seemed.
  15. Re. The transit. All 3.5 tonners carry about the same 1.3/1.5 Tonnes max, doesn’t matter how much you spend. Get a 7.5 tonner.
  16. But at where do you draw the line at what defines tree work? Is a gardener not allowed to reduce a hedge or get a ladder and a bowsaw to take down a 20ft birch in his clients back garden? Do you really want a regulatory body dictating what safety signs you have up in your workshop? Some bloke you never met checking on your work with an option to rescind your licence and your living if you don’t meet their expectations?
  17. Who really ate Toblerones? (Apart from Alan Partridge)
  18. I reckon before the growing of sugar in the New World it was very rare and expensive to get something sweet to eat or drink. So a bit of even mildly sweet birch juice would have been very welcome to our forefathers.
  19. Like many of us, I find the logistics of tree removal one of the challenges. I always compare it to the fox/chicken/grain puzzle. So for instance, I cannot really tow a chipper (even a 750kg) behind a already overweight transit. Or I cannot bring the loader home on the trailer when there’s already two tonne of waste wood on there, thereby lengthening the working day, or even pushing the job over to the next day. So if I can get rid of chip or wood locally, saving me fuel, time, and wear and tear on vehicles I’m very happy, I’m certainly not going to ask for more than a bottle of wine.
