    Hi Paul, I have a trug full of pine cones. They do weight an absolute ton so my not be worth the cost to post but I’ve popped a picture of them below. Let me know if they are any good for what you are after. Cheers

    Did the willow trunk yesterday. Knackered 3 chains and took 2 hours longer than planned. Still got it done and avoided effing and blinding so happy about that. Here are the pictures of the absolute pain in the arse.

    I have a stone pine to take down at the end of the month I could certainly post some up to you. Don’t know if I will have time to Collect 100 though as we have to get the job done that day so we can collect the ones from the floor after. The job is on the 31st.

    Ha I found a rucksack in a hedge we were cutting about 8 years ago and I still gets used as a work bag now.

    We all come across a lot I’ve crap in hedges from time to time but we were reducing a great long stretch of privet next to a public footpath the other day and I turned round to see one of the lads looking like he had just seen a ghost. I stop the saw and hear him say ‘what the (bad language) is that’? I look down and see this... Needless to say we had to take some amusing pictures after finding it So what’s the weirdest crap you have found whilst out trimming hedges.

    Completely agree with Mark here. There was clearly no traffic management involved as cars were going past and if you were to fell a trunk like that on a road side you would put hazard tape at the very least around the area the tree could fall. I’ve made cock ups and skipped corners in the past but nothing like this. Why wasn’t the trunk taken down lower? Lazy and rushing to get to the pub no doubt. Why was the tree being felled against its lean? And why the hell is there from what I can see only 2 people caring out a job on what appears to be a busy road that needs a lot more traffic control than just a couple of cones next to the chipper. I hate it when people love to have a go and judge people for silly mistakes (we all make them) but this is just nuts. They were lucky no one died and if that was me on the bike I would have torn them a new one and been straight on the phone to HSE. Unbelievable

    Could be the way to go. To be honest I think I’m going to just hit it with a pile of chains and hope the saw doesn’t have a hissy fit [emoji4]

    Might work or it might just make a very soggy muddy mess, I'll get pictures when I do it so you can see the horrible job I am up against.

    I don’t know if an axe would cut it (excuse the pun) but an airline might just give me a better chance.

    Yeah the more I look in to it the more I realise you are right Steve. I have a handful of chains that I will make sure are ready for the job in a couple of weeks and just hope I don’t find any old relics within the stump. I’ll get pictures.

    Nice idea but the trunk is right next to the house and the side you would get to it from has no access for a decent grinder unfortunately

    Yeah I came across a old shipping chain in one 2 years back and the customer said oh yeah I used to hang them on the tree years ago as a place to store them [emoji20]

    Hopefully not Mick. But who knows what will appear in an old willow pollard.

    Yeah it is but I would like a tungsten chain to cut through it but I can’t fine a 30” one for love nor money.
